I didn't like Retro City Rampage precisely because it didn't "feel" like an NES game. Really surprised that the developer was attempting to create it for actual 8-bit hardware, very impressive. Would have bought it if it was authentic 8-bit. For me it's either full on 16-bit or 8-bit, games that are half and half make me feel queasy somehow.

Agreed. A friend once filmed me and another guy for a school project playing NHL '93 on the Genesis back in the day and it was dull as fuck, even with two people bantering back and forth. Unless the person is narrating or something (a la these Walking Dead videos) it's pretty meh most of the time. You pretty much need to see the action on-screen as well as the player.
