Another good session folks, we had 8 people in Mumble at one point. That's frustratingly close to being 12, which would be perfect to host a private RPS-only game. Sigh.
I'll give the group a plug when RPS posts about the imminent Gorgeous update at the end of February, see if we can attract a few more.

You'll be lucky, your body was simply meat in the way of my greatness.
Actually, I mistook you for Felisc. Hmm. That's actually probably more insulting.

I still don't get how you could make such a mistake. I am part of the glorious deluxe-armored master race, while Felisc is just one of the yellow-clad peasants.

Ye, I enjoyed myself although those latter games were lacking something. No, Sketch, I'm not talking about the absence of Felisc! Jeez, get a grip mate!
A full RPS server would be fantastic! Especially with allthese new toys to try out once the update is here.

anyway, so hopefully that video Jim nicely posted will attract some more people indeed. At least we sound nice. And clueless.
And yep, really cool we got to 8 people. Well, more like 7 and a half, but still.

I just noticed the RPS videos also got a News mention on the NS2 Steam page. Nice!
edit: by the look of it, I will have a free evening tonight. I will be on mumble if anyone feels like joining up.

So after being posted on the front page the video views went from 50 something to 1,500 in a day! We must get new people.
I could be tempted to some NS2 tonight too, I will be online.

I shouldn't, but I think I might pop for a game. Or two. Or...

So, the evening didn't turn out quite as free as I'd imagined, which lead to me abandoning Sketch and Monsieur K. I'm sorry for that and I hope Sketch knew how to behave himself infront of a frenchman.
My first puplicly commanded game turned out to be a total fiasco, being credited by one team mate with the words "worst game so far this night". It's not quite a "stop using that aimbot!" but maybe I'll get there with my commanding eventually...

, at least you didn't get ejected from the commander chair (*looks at sketch*). Did you command marines or aliens ?
I wish i could have joined, but sleep felt more like the wise thing to do.

I was out late yesterday so I didn't get to play with you guys.
This is why I'm so eager to get an RPS-only session going. Everyone can have a go at commanding in a more relaxing environment.
We could try it with a low number of players, but NS doesn't scale very well unfortunately. Twelve players is really the minimum you need.

Shall we gather for whiskey and cigars tonight?

I'll put an event reminder up on the steam group for about 8pm, when I get home.
On a related note, I was thinking of promoting someone else in the steam group to 'Officer' so more than one person can post events and stuff. It makes sense to have more than one person, just in case I'm not around.

Tonight you say ?
Interesting. If the gods of time let me. And if I refrain from booting dead space 3
I'm sure Kwisatz would do an excellent officer. As you two are the best players, that would make sense.

Huzzah. I will be on about 8:30.

We were really unlucky with the servers yesterday evening
What do you reckon would be a decent number of players to have a go at an rps private session ? 8 players would be a bare minimum, I guess.
I predict next sunday there will be 10 people. Yes, TEN.

I predict 9 people and a slug.

I've had NS2 installed for a week now, I'll try to figure out the basics and intermediates and join you folk in Mumble. Promise to keep it lowkey, not be my usual surprised exclamatory self.
