Great. Despite not being able to do damage my framerate was fine yesterday (at least getting support xp)
Now I log back in and my framerate is down by 50% across the board.
I wonder if they will ever be able to release an update without fucking up the game for a large percentage of players.

Urgh. Stuttery FPS and repair/ammo lag is making this game very frustrating. No regrets about cancelling my membership last month.
At least it's PC-only so SOE can hotfix things - I know it's not an MMO but the Mass Effect 3 multiplayer had major bugs that weren't fixed for months, partly due to the lengthy patch certing process and fees for other formats.
I don't know if it's confirmation bias, my shared connection or SOE but I'm inclined to agree that it seems a little laggier at times.
I'd say it's the patch messing up somehow. Every time they add new changes it breaks performance. Every time they try to fix it it increases server pressure. After that, it seems to go okay.
Right now it's probably the load of the influx of people during double XP and that the patch is still not completely finished.
What they do need in this game is a public test server for every patch where they can test how it holds up to load. That seems to be what is generally missing.

There is supposed to be a public test realm this or the next week, i think that will be primarily for the new hex system but there should be some stuff landing there before going live at least.
Public test would be so great - maybe allowing use of all weapons/certs but limiting the time the servers are available, so as to maximise stress-test elements and testing of new gear.

The Lancer sounds like it might be pretty neat. Although the others sound terrifying as well. I'm hoping we won't have the Annihilator situation al over again.
The lancer sounds cool and useful against tankzergs where we can charge our lazorz, but the decimator will still dominate vs infantry and maxes then.. I frequently use my decimator against infantry, maxes or blobs of dudes. With one decimator shot in the middle of a lot of dudes + one grenade, you can kill a lot of people.

I was thinking along similar lines, the standard dumbfire launcher is pretty effect vs infantry as well as vehicles.
This makes the Lancer a very specialised (but fun) tool. And there I was, hoping to snipe MAX suits with it.
Dunno, still feel the Lancer is a bit underwhelming. At least as long as you have the Decimator.
I still wonder if it will have travel time or is instant? The later would explain why it can't kill ESFs in one shot. Although I really would like to trade travel time for that. Hovering should be punished.

I think it would be entirely reasonable for a fully charged lancer headshot to kill a max outright, let alone infantry. This would also give us a much needed, perfect, counter to scattermaxes, since the devs seem to just simply not care how much of a glaring balance oversight the scatmax really is.
It seems to be instant bonkers.

If you'd be nerfing scatmaxxed, you'd need to nerf every other shotgun. Issue is, that other maxes have subpar weaponary compared to their infantry counterparts. RPM's are way too low for their weapons.

There's really no problem with other shotguns at all though as they have plenty of weaknesses as well as infantry using them can be outranged easily by any rifle. You don't even have to pop a headshot.
Maxes however are used in CQC where they dominate. VS and TR can't really outrange NC since our guns don't have that much range either. I would be fine with not touching the scatmaxes damage against infantry and instead adjusting the other maxes damage against infantry to compensate (perhaps the Mercy is already good at this, the Cosmos is at best mediocre and is outclassed by any heavy assault gun).
The damage at about 5-10m against other maxes needs to be nerfed by at least 50% however. I don't really think one max should be able to kill other maxes in 0.3 seconds when they themselves can't do anything of the sort at any range. It shouldn't the way biolab fights against NC go now - one wrong turn around a corner for half a second and you are completely fucked as a VS Max. Sure, NC should win close quarters, but then we should also be able to kill the damn thing at least half the time when they are walking against us.
