    Personal rewards are a nice touch. Give people an incentive to fight.

    I'm also glad that they balanced out the crap warpgates and the good warpgates, but I am afraid that it will lead to each empire only fighting on the continent with their favourable warpgate.

    I think SoE just developed my metagame for the three weeks of WDS: get as much swag as possible! I don't care if it's ugly camo or guns I own. I want the stuff! If you need me I'll be playing aggressively in the highest point scoring, most out numbered hex on Auraxis.

    The personal rewards are indeed cool. However,

    Disabled Difficulty and Top Dog multipliers. This means scores will be far more consistent and predictable throughout the day, and contributions have equal value regardless of time of day or continent population.
    So the most effective way to play will once again be capping and holding every territory throughout the night, while the opposition sleeps? Hum.

    Reading some of the comments, SOE seem to think that because the data they have been quietly collecting doesn't show this to be an issue currently, it will be alright when the WDS is up. Does it not seem that perhaps the WDS will encourage people to ghost cap stuff late at night who otherwise might not bother? Did they not introduce the difficulty system that is now being scrapped to address just this issue?

    Nice that they are being so responsive! Hopefully the increased points for capping territory back is actually enough to balance it out, we shall see.

    Depends how much 6% is in actual numbers. I guess people running 32bit are also probably the most likely to update their systems soon.

    Considering peak numbers I saw for PS2 is 4k world wide per faction, 12k players these days. less than 1k daily players and maybe about 4k total (guess work)

    Didn't realise it was that low! I suppose though it's more interesting to know total users per day.
    Makes no difference to me anyway, and 64bit is hardly new so they can go ahead.

    So how has the pop been lately? I only logged in yesterday for my 12 certs and was able to tell from the world pop in the login screen that there was an alert going on and VS was dominationg (47% world pop). Has the pop been this bad for longer now or only during alerts? I really didn't have the time to play over the last week so I was wondering because when I last played NC was sitting at nice pop advantage.

    NC usually has a pop advantage during the day/early peak hours, and VS has always had the advantage after ~9 pm. Lately, pop swings have been a lot more extreme though, resulting in weird 40%+ VS pops after 10.

    Sometime between 9-10 every weeknight, NC and TR pop seems to drop like a stone.

    I also noticed an increase in TR pop during the day at the weekend.

    Also, GDS and squad deployment is so strong now (if people stay in the sunderer that is...)

    I suspect that SL should insist that one person/two people stay behind and guard/gun/repair for sunderers at all times, to facilitate spawning and keep it alive as long as possible.
