    Arrow Guild Quiz Time

We have two build slots available on a regular basis, one is blocked by the Guild Challenges and the other we currently use for +15% Karma for 24hrs.
So we would like your feedback on whether you would prefer to keep the karma booster in one slot or go for something different; these are the options we have:

    +5% Kill Experience for 24hrs
+10% Magic Find for 3 days
    +10% Gathering Bonus for 48hrs
    +15% Karma for 24hrs
+10% Crafting Critical Success for 24hrs
+5% Increased Gold for kills for 24 hrs

They all have their plus points and weak points, so I'll leave you to argue it out.

Honestly, out of them all MF looks most appealing for biggest crowd.
Hear from the spirit-world this mystery:
    Creation is summed up, O man, in thee;
Angel and demon, man and beast art thou,
Yea, thou art all thou dost appear to be!

I quite like Gold because that's what you struggle the most with at first

My view is that karma is easy enough to come by that we don't need a constant boost. We could always have occasional "karma parties" where we run a guild boost and pop all our karma jugs.

I also voted for the gold; we all need money and we all kill things.
    Guild Wars 2:

Main character name is Seigous Bearheart. I also play on Duke Witherheart. And Lindenheart.

Karma is easy to get and 10% MF boost seems insignificant. My vote goes for gold.

This is a good point, and we have queued it up, however realistically we still only have one slot to keep a permanent boost up as the other will often be used for guild events etc.

There is a good argument for gold coming through at the moment, but more votes for magic find, anyone want to put some reasoning behind it?

Gold find is only really relevant in dungeons. Not that many open-world mobs drop cash, and when they do, it's usually pitiful amounts. Very little of the gold you earn comes from mob drops -- far more comes from loot, which would be improved by the magic find bonus.

Note that gold find doesn't apply to money from event rewards -- just drops from monsters. And on the karma train in wvw, for example, most of the cold hard cash comes from the event rewards.

Unless you're running dungeons, 10% magic find > 5% gold find.

None of the other options are actually viable. The point of switching away from Karma to MF was to free up a research slot, since MF lasts for three days and Karma only for one. Anything else and we're back to where we started.

Saf I din't know that, but you are the capitalist of the team so I trust your judgement, MF it is then.

My view on all of this:
    1. Guild Challenge research is done soon and we have only 1 more mission to unlock. As Ohara pointed out, we can do that with an Asuran Contract, which is a beautiful idea. That means we will have both slots available for mission/boost research.
    2. MF is a horrible mechanic and that 10% doesn't translate into any quantifiable benefit.
    3. The karma is the best of the bunch, because you get karma from all areas of the game - but on the flip side there's not that much to do with it (arguably you could dump all of it in orrian boxes and sell the outcome for cash).

I voted for karma and while I think it's a useful buff, there's no problem whatsoever if we don't have it for a couple of days whenever we need to research something else. I'm hoping that with preemptive Asuran Contract researching we can avoid bottlenecks like last evening.

(the poll isn't letting me vote for some reason, but anyway...)

My vote is for +Magic find, but it is mostly for practical reasons.
We should try to keep the bonus as applicable to all members as possible, like we have done previously. While i think we all agree that the +XP, +Crafting, +Gathering and small and fairly useless bonuses (we get bigger ones from wvw by the end of the week!), the others are trickier:

+Gold from monsters - I don't like this one. The money you get from drops is insignificant unless you're farming CoF (not most of our members). This doesn't affect chests, events, hearts etc

Between the other two there's a practical difference:

+Karma - while i like the bonus personally, and it benefits everyone (to some degree), there's two problems with it. It takes 2 days to research each time to give a bonus for 24 hours. This means we constantly have to speed it up costing even more influence (which we appear to be slowly draining). Tied into this, it means it is constantly filling up one of our upgrade building slots. With us doing so many guild missions (at least two twice a week) we really need that extra slot to be more available so we can have missions ready for the events without having to speed them up on the spot (e.g last run, we had to speed everything up to do our rush at a cost of over 4000 influence instead of 500! and in future we'll be regularly doing bounty, rush, challenge and puzzle!). There's also so many other upgrades we never even get to use because of this backlog! (guild siege, wvw buffs, banners,

So that's why i'm with +magic find. I know it's a tiny bonus, but at least it does help us all. And with it taking 1 day to research and lasting 3 days it allows us to do much more.

Just to note, there is one more bonus that was missed off the list: +10% Influence from Events
While probably not one to go for day-to-day, it might be useful every once in a while if our influence drops a bit low.

Voted for MF - Karma useful as well but I find that Karma comes more from jugs than events. You get best karma by binging on multiple jugs like my sister at happy hour, after popping a Karma booster and a banner and the 15% 24h boost simultaneously. Having the 15% boost every 2 weeks or so should work well, with advance notice given here on forum. Now I'm running out of Karma boosters I only tend to drink Karma monthly or so in any case.

We should pop the +10% Influence from Events for sure during the weekend or when we have big guild runs scheduled in WvW or PvE - it'll help manage our dwindling influence stocks. Speaking of that, 2g-influence-plan here I come

I agree with your points Yaemar and I tend to lean towards MF just because it works better from a logistics point of view (research time, overall influence cost).

Good call on the influence idea for guild events/wvw.

I *think* that if we don't have to hurry the karma every day, we'll already be making a "profit" on influence given our regular upgrades.

In my phone, therefore short response. I voted for Karma, since it benefits everyone in various forms. Gold Gavin is insignificant, as is
10% MF at this price. Last alternative is no bonus at all. Remember, influence is valuable, s
    ee the 2g influence plan.

We could have the karma boost active on weekends so people can time their jug clicking, with nothing else otherwise. I mean, that's really the only reason to have it up in the first place now that nobody farms events for karma anymore.
