Fuck this shit, give me Half Life.
... I take the lives of a few to protect the lives of many. I commit acts of war to preserve the greater peace. I take no joy in killing, but make no mistake; I'll do what needs to be done. Because it's my job. It's my duty. My name is Sam Fisher, and I am a Splinter Cell.
What did you actually expect?
Apart from them making it official there's not much discussion to be had that hasn't been had. There's no price tag or spec given. It's an announcement of pretty much everything already known.
*EDIT*
Make your own xi3 to get an idea of the hardware they use. AMD only, windows is an option and SSD only. No mention of graphics processors which is odd since they mention how modular it is. It obvious from the form of that box that conventional graphics cards won't be going into it.

Piston: powered by Steam. PR CHILLS THERE GUYS.
It definitely looks like a thing. I guess this is progress toward something I might eventually want.
oh. um. uh.... okay. I'm sure what I'm looking at though. I didn't expect the steam box to look like this
Bah! My blog is fulla bollox! What? Don't believe me?Here! Just look at it!
I would've liked it to have looked a bit more clockpunk but I guess that would make the costs prohibitive. Any specs released yet?
It's quite cute. Then again, I find all things that are smaller than they usually are to be cute. Like 2.5" HDDs.
mickygor, Battlefield 3
Otmer, League of Legends EUW
Bastiat, Planetside 2, Miller NC
I'd rather just connect my PC to the TV. Can't imagine that thing having much storage space, especially if it's SSD only, and I don't want to bother having to install/uninstall everything constantly. Also, performance. Still might be a good idea for people without gaming PCs, though.
But do we know if it's a real PC or if it's a console hooked on Steam?
I don't see any mention of it being Linux based. Where are you getting this information?
The big selling point with this thing for me would be getting to play all my Steam games easily and conveniently on the telly, if it's restricted to the games that work on Linux then that's going to hamper my interest somewhat. :|
Noone said this is the steam pc... it's a project which got some funding by Valve.
Gameinformer is fishing for hits.
Look at the video : 20 watts and 400m transistors, they don't need to reveal the specs to know that it will be weak as shit.
It's basically this : http://www.raspberrypi.org/
But less portable and needlessly expensive.

Why yes you're right I'm deliciously evil
Tradition is the tyranny of dead men
Steam:Kadayi Origin: Kadayi GFWL: Kadayi
Probable Replicant
*blush* I'm flattered by the attention boys, but please let's not make the thread about liddle old me
A bit too small for my liking, but I like it.
It's a bit too cramped for all those ports, I can't imagine how much tangled the cables would be.
Cables...
It's the X5A. Piston is supposedly based on the X7A which is substantially beefier and also ridiculously expensive for the performance it offers.
I can't see how 1k hardware with about 150 bucks worth of performance would sell, but perhaps that's the reason I'm not a billionaire.
