XCOM: Enemy Unknown
Dark Souls
W40k: Dawn of War: Dark Crusade
Dishonored
STALKER: Shadow of Chernobyl
Fallout: New Vegas
Alpha Protocol
Mirror's Edge
Honourable Mentions goes to Dwarf Fortress. Could've made it into the list but it's not finished yet. Also, Hotline Miami and Bastion

Errr 11....
Metro 2033
The Witcher 2
XCOM Enemy Unknown
Deus Ex Human Revolution
Frozen Synapse
Dishonoured
Civilisation 5
Crusader Kings 2
Anno 2070 (I did enjoy it more than 1404)
Minecraft
Empire Total War(just more ambitious than Shogun 2) + Napoleon(it's just an expansion)
Scourge of War Gettysburg (especially because of the RPS multiplayer group)
Planetside 2 or Tribes Ascend, the jury is out but that brand of online shooter.
Though those being largely in the last couple years I expect my memory is playing up.
Also kind of want Dragon Age 1 and SpaceChem. Also due to hours played probably Victoria 2 or EU3 or another paradox game on that engine, but I let them have Crusader Kings 2

Erm... if it were from the dawn of time the list would be easy. 2006+?
In no order:
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. (dont know if to pick SoC or CoP)
Dark Souls
Mirror's Edge
Aquaria
Red Orchestra Ostfront
Portal
Cryostasis
E.Y.E. Divine Cybermancy
Just Cause 2
Hitman: Blood Money (AIR RIFLES!!!)
Killing Floor
Honeroubalabul mentions:
Metro 2033 (AIR RIFLES!!!)
Red Orchestra 2
Batman AA
Fallout 3
Tribes: Ascend
Not including stuff like Deus Ex or Doom made that rather hard.

I love the game to bits but I advise it to very few people. Its that goofy band you like though everyone calls you a hipster because of that and enjoy it just to be different, but you just enjoy it anyhow.
It is broken, buggy and awfully explained / translated but if you can slog through one ending path and try a second play loop with the same character things actually start to make sense. Bear in mind that translates to "you need to play this for 6 hours before it gets good" and I know most people don't have the time for that.
Anyhow, I got about 100 hours out of it and I would qualify it as one of my top 10 games of post 2006. I wont hold it against anyone if they place it in their "10 WORST GAMES EVER!" lists though.

My faves:
Portal (+2)
Fallout 3 (+NV)
Skyrim
EVE Online
Machinarium
Audiosurf
How can this bo so hard to list only TEN games,so op can count votes at the end, don't listen 18 games neither 6,list 10 games, its quite simple, you can do it.
... I take the lives of a few to protect the lives of many. I commit acts of war to preserve the greater peace. I take no joy in killing, but make no mistake; I'll do what needs to be done. Because it's my job. It's my duty. My name is Sam Fisher, and I am a Splinter Cell.
Let's see. Contents subject to change as my memory remembers other games.
*Mount & Blade: Warband - A unique experience, a huge reactive world with the best sword fighting in games.
*Batman: Arkham Asylum - A game that showed how to translate an existing property into a game, taking the essence of the character and setting with surgical precision.
*Alpha Protocol - Truly unique in it's approach to characters and dialogues.
*The Witcher 2 - Choice and consequence at its best.
*Minecraft - A revolution, a messiah of user influence on the game world).
*Portal - A masterpiece of narrative and gameplay.
*Team Fortress 2 - A masterpiece of multiplayer shooter, amazing how valve can inject so much personality into what's essentially a red vs blue game.
*Solium Infernum - A game that makes you a manipulative bastard, brilliant design which encourages scheming and plotting. Trust no one, manipulate everyone.
*Sword of the Stars Complete - Truly unique blend of 4x and RTS. It shines with the differences between races and the random stuff and menaces that plague its universe.
*Driver San Francisco - It takes the genre on its head and provides a brilliant mix of speed and silliness. A puzzle racer.
Mentions:
*VVVVVVV - Hard but not punishing, meaning that it was quite satisfying.
*Gemini Rue - May not be the brightest Adventure Game but it tells a bloody brilliant story.
*Left 4 Dead - The revival of the coop game. Brilliantly made, as ever with valve.
*S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Shadow of Chernobyl - A game that oozes atmosphere. It truly puts you on another world.
*Deus Ex: Human Resources - The game that showed that companies can make new games with modern sensibilities while respecting the franchise heritage.
*XCOM: Enemy Unknown - It showed that turn based strategy games are still contemporary.
*Frog Fractions - Silliness and absurdity. Surprise after surprise. A mix of everything. Brilliantly stupid.

I don't mind honorable mentions if they're separated by text. Or people with less than ten. Sure the numbers'll be less even, but its just a simple sum so it shouldn't matter. Might even help tie breakers.
Really? A majority of the top ten will probably be different.

Well if keep counting only 10 games per list we won't ruin anything. We need to have some kind of rules for christ sake, maybe op didn't understood my idea when i wrote it in other thread.

It's not rocket science. Just count up the first ten choices someone lists, and compile an aggregate list of the top 25. Putting more than ten doesn't matter if you only count the ten (although I do prefer it if they're separated by something like honorable mention). Why should having less than ten matter? Not voting is also a choice, even if the only thing you'll get from it is a smaller voice.
