Can't speak for anyone else of a female persuasion but I know I tend to lurk primarily because the vast numbers of neckbeards who like to tell me what I can and cannot be offended/upset/annoyed by, and/or assume pretty much everyone in the vicinity is a fellow neckbeard (or at the very least, has a penis).
