Needs staring eyes tag, more alt text and PUNFACE.
The rampant homophonia on RPS has to stop!
Not a single mention of Deus Ex in that article. What a shame.
This thread is riddled with unbelievers.
that a pun "is to wordplay what dominatrix sex is to foreplay - a stinging whip that elicits groans of guilty pleasure".
This is my most favourite line.

The problem with a lot of people is that they don't appreciate that a "bad joke" isn't necessarily a bad joke.
I can't remember who he said it was from but I remember Fry saying on QI about how bad jokes actually work as a social device because everybody can join in, laugh/shake their head together and agree that it was a bit shit. I'd say puns fall into that. The right sort of bad joke is almost as good as a good joke.

A brave heart and a courteous tongue. They shall carry thee far through the jungle, manling.
I feel its a bit of elitism coming in. Oh the lowest form of comedy, it makes the lower people laugh I am so high and mighty.
I don't care how it does it but usually the RPS pun threads make me laugh and I don't care whether its bad or good it made me more happier which is the main thing I would think.
As a non-native English speaker, I find RPS punnery a good tool for sharpening my language skills. Sometimes I have to read the pun aloud in my mind before I capture the idea, but that's all good exercise.
