Koltyr newbie squds: Some thoughts on recruitment
Okay, so I just spent a couple of hours running a 'newbie help squad' on the new Koltyr.
It went down well. No idea if it will lead to many new players (I did post links to the recruitment thread regularly...) so we'll see. Once I have BR10 and can use /orders it would help...
But a couple of things:
- Can we add to the VS recruitment thread to give a quick intro to the outfit (i.e. what it's like to play with us; friendly and we have no skill requirements, but we do require that you listen in on Mumble & follow orders)
- We should do this in conjunction with open platoons. I really enjoyed the late night open platoon I ran the other day. I forgot how much fun they could be. We should be running them more often...
Or, I can simply get players once they reach BR15 to join our Mumble and feed them into our usual squads. That's probably a better way."KING GEORGE IS A FROG

Also won't your new character get punted out of Koltyr at some point? or do you just plan on rinse and repeating?

Gribble, I really must protest you being too grumpy.
It's my job, and I do it well. Seriously. Boundries. -_-
I am 100% on board with helping to run open platoons on tuesdays, but I'm unlikely to have many tuesdays I can be on until I've at least moved my computer to the same house I keep my bed in. And then there's super sessy girlfriend who must not be kept without hugs on cold swedish nights (it's the law, true story).
Within these constraints: absolute and total support for this plan.Disclaimer:
Sometimes I get a bit manic and then I talk too much and wall-of-text a lot.
This rarely lasts for more than a week or so at a time. Feel free to ignore any and all walls of text at your leisure.

Awesome, I really enjoyed the open platoon that Gribble was leading. Will happily squad lead in an open platoon for anyone that's running one.
If you need help on Koltyr Cooper I still have my zombie below BR15 so give me a prod if you need an extra pair of hands (Frith, zombieFrith).
