Wizards of Ooze - Psychovibes (one of my favourite belgian bands. they dont play anymore)
Alan Tew: hes an awesome 70s composer that has done a crapload of stock funkay music.
Daft Punk: if wed all move like that, NC would still fail to hit us.

by the way, I have to go on about Wizards of Ooze a bit, because I invariably tie their music to playing Gloom, the Q2 mod. Especially that tune I put up.
Also, much like your contribution, nick.

Where does this random collection of music come from? Is this the kind of music you guys listen to? Just goes to show how different tastes in music can be.
I'll chip in with some sweet old swinging or jamming tunes from the thirties too, if you want. That's my poison of choice.

Or why not this disco classic! Perfect for us purple disco space giraffes:
Meco – Star Wars Theme/Cantina Band - 7" Radio Edit

Ok, some of the more electronically minded bits of my library that feel fairly vanu to me.
Sisters of Transistors - The Don
Apoptygma Berzerk - Kathy's Song
Ladytron - Destroy Everything You Touch

If we're talking about film/game-style of music I really really like this one from Mass Effect 3:
Clint Mansell and EA Games Soundtrack – Leaving Earth
Or contintuing on the disco theme; these set the "right feeling", I find:
Village People – Magic Night (being with friends and having fun)
Village People – Get Away Holiday (alludes to escapism)
Gotta love Village People.

Just to say, not everyone will have access to Spotify, Esoteric. Best off looking for links to youtube if possilbe? I no longer have Spotify, though it is good.

Anyone that doesn't have spotify and likes music should really get it, it's like a tenner a month for all the music ever. That being said I'll contribute in youtube anyway;
Moon OST - Welcome to Lunar Industries
Also, love Craig Armstrong for cinematic stuff;
Escape/Hanging - Craig Armstrong
Ruthless Gravity - Craig Armstrong
Pretty much everything Beirut has done reminds me of Amerish. No logic behind that, maybe it looks kinda rustic?
Beirut - Elephant Gun
Surely any band called Hadouken! is going to pick Vanu? If anyones still actually reading I'm probably going to lose a lot of people here but I don't care, I like trash sometimes!
Rebirth - Hadouken!
If anyone actually had families in the PS2 universe, I can see a Vanu teenager getting down to a bit of Anamanaguchi, Souleye or Chipzel;
Anamanaguchi - Jetpack Blues, Sunset Hues
Souleye - Potential for Anything
Chipzel - To The Sky
Yeah, you Lib pilots could play Ride of the Valkeries, sure. But everyone else is doing that so have some vintage Outkast and stand out from the crowd!
B.O.B - Outkast
I'm pretty sure a lot of people already know this and are possibly even sick of it after AssCreed (not really) Revelations relentlessly played it during their ad campagin. However, this is still a powerful song imo and it's easy to see why Ubisoft's marketing department were so hard for it;
Iron - Woodkid
Every time we lose a biolab to the TR this plays in my head;
Take it Back - Enter Shikari/Qemists
Any amount of intelligent hip hop could be a Vanu national anthem just as much as Daft Punk if you ask me. Some highlights from Talib Kweli;
Roll off Me - Talib Kweli
Get By - Talib Kweli
Definition - Black Star
Justice are, for my money, one of the most analogue sounding electronic acts this side of Aphex Twin, at least on their first album. More importantly, that first album is essentially one big tribute to disco;
Genesis - Justice
Planisphere - Justice
Audio, Video, Disco - Justice
Jesus, I was only going to post like 3 things. This is addictive. I need to start doing more productive things with my days off work.

One band I really enjoy that might be in the vein of this thread might be Soil & Pimp Sessions http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=axzOcH9KhN0
Also, Bohren is something I enjoy a whole lot when farting around at night irl so it might work when flying a gal during the night phase http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=axzOcH9KhN0

I know that probably doesn't sound like a ringing endorsement, but seriously I liked it a lot. Much like I like it when the Japanese play at being The Pogues.

Yeah, they've got a certain something that feels quite unique. And that's something I appreciate almost more than anything in music. Glad you liked it!
