Larry Graham probably is Vanu, he's certainly a god (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ipjTvRe7-Zg)

Mentioned this during our excellent late shift, great Vanu style stuff across this soundtrack. Game is worth a play too, if you can tear yourself away from Auraxis!

For Boriz, who hasn't seen this rather spiffy rendition of Torn:

I love this thread. So many new songs I can pretend to have discovered myself! Here's a few things I'm listening to that I'm yet to ruin for myself by editing a video to it.

**** WARNING - contains more than an average adults RDA of La Roux ****

    Some are more Vanu than others, I'll try not to editorialise too much except to put TLDR next to the unmissable stuff for those of you on a tight schedule;

La Roux : Sexoteque - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E36Iosstxc8 TLDR (I'm totally willing to accept that most people won't be following me down this particular rabbit hole, but fuck you I like La Roux. To me, she's the hero pop music both needs and deserves.)
La Roux : Kiss and Not Tell - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D-8r0b2yK9g

    Kanye West : Black Skinhead - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f5ZquHiI8wQ
    Kanye West : New Slaves - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v4S06rfMnrY

    Talib Kweli : Human Mic - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cptRtmYTsBc

R.A The Rugged Man (feat Talib Kweli) : Learn Truth - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HWzYIpUZCk8 TLDR

    Justice : New Lands - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gxu248aD6PY

Sebastian : Love in Motion - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V8BOBEZL9sk (never saw the video til I looked this up, now I kind of wish I hadn't. Excuse me while I go have a nice bleach scrub.)

Twenty One Pilots : Addict with a Pen - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6h7NG25zTnU TLDR

    Tom Waits : Downtown Train - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ja2evWhGWHA
Tom Waits : Goin' Out West - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=27LLPANAgzw
Tom Waits : Anywhere I Lay My Head - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bUPRQDewJpA TLDR

Empire of the Sun : Alive - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3hZJwAhO7UM
Empire of the Sun : DNA - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dnSKOk3dULI (These guys look like they could actually BE Vanu)

    The Shoes : America - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ajxTZR4D25Y
    The Shoes : Wastin' Time - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BrsZojCJ2OI

Hans Zimmer, Lorne Balfe, Lisa Gerrard : Faith (The Bible Soundtrack) - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=urR8muDTkD0 TLDR

April March : Les Tomber Les Filles - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ljTQVyWJ8uA

    Bobby Womack : Across 110th Street - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UOg_8hCC4u4

Bruce Springsteen : Thunder Road - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RMB3M43AEpc TLDR

    Tomoyasu Hotei : Immigrant Song - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=57FdL7SGJSM

Johnny Cash : God's Gonna Cut You Down - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eJlN9jdQFSc
Johnny Cash : Personal Jesus - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qpYW3qng78E TLDR

The Flaming Lips : The Yeah Yeah Yeah Song - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rR5xTgMwpiM

The Raconteurs : Steady As She Goes (acoustic) - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yrVUFUFkPU8

    The Chemical Brothers : Galvanize - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pNi2JckTCKg
    The Chemical Brothers : Snow - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n8wyK543klI

Boards of Canada : New Seeds - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qwz9Ue4RH-w

Right, that'll do for now. I appreciate the above isn't all new music but these artists need to meet me halfway and start being as good as Tom Waits and Bruce Springsteen used to be before I was even born.

For those of you that like electro-blurp-pop, here is some Roisin Murphy (aka her from Moloko)!

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VlFjf1pWk2c

edit: another video, since the last one linked is kind of an awkward video of that song. This one, however, is my current favourite. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0dBi_aYXjuE

Hah, wow, Hadoken!, Enter Shikari, Justice, Knife Party? Jaguar Skills read my mind before I even came on here, nice shouts. Though sadly, Hadouken! are pretty awful live. I saw them a couple years back now, they had no stage presence at all.

As for my own music: Infected Mushroom - Heavyweight.
They're an Israeli psytrance band whose stuff tends to be pretty weird, and a lot of it hard to listen to, but I love how their music changes as the song goes on, keeps you guessing. This is one of their more accessible songs, with a really epic feeling to it.
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h4YvkZeLrjs

    Dub FX - Love Someone
This is just one guy on the street with a looper and his voice, just layering things on and on to make a complete song. It's highly impressive, and a good tune to boot. Takes a little while into the video before it properly starts.
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UiInBOVHpO8

    Parov Stelar - Catgroove
I'm an absolute sucker for electroswing, and this is one of my favourite songs in the genre. Also features really good, slightly greasy dancing.
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=twqM56f_cVo

Swing Republic - Crazy in Love
A swing version of Beyonce's Crazy in Love, 'cos why the hell not?
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RD1u_Cb-i6Y

Song of Storms Dubstep Remix - Ephixa
This one probably isn't all that great of a song, it's quite simple, but I love it anyway. Gets me right in the nostalgia. Besides, I find it funny imagining what the windmill would go like if Link managed to play this on the ocarina.

    TNGHT - Higher Ground
Everything about this song just makes me want to ride across a continent in a magrider.

    CHVRCHES - Recover
    Glaswegian electro pop.

    Woodkid - Run Boy Run
    It's just majestic.

This was the soundtrack to my terrible performance in the Harasser race last night.

But I'd recommend Pressure and Time as a place to start for the Rival Sons virgin.

Came across this guy during a Grooveshark binge (for some reason queued right behind a gothic metal song). Pretty awesome.

Yeah, he's good. But that's probably because I'm broadening my taste to including electronic dance in the category "stuff I like". Previously it kinda required the artist to use a guitar (I am into death/gothic/viking/prog metal and hardrock). I'm sure I wouldn't have liked it 3 years ago.

Kinda jarring to hear him just after Pettalom's Ashes Garden, but whatever.

    Indeed.

A few others I like in a similar is vain - College, Bonobo, Delphic.

I also can't recommend El Ten Eleven enough for impressive guitar stuff.
