It's a fact well known to those that know it well that game sequels truly deep down in their hearts follow the Die Hard sequence of subtitles. For example (arbitrarily choosing Walking Dead); Walking Dead 2: Walk Deader, Walking Dead 3: Walk Dead with a Vengeance, Live Free or Walk Dead (or Walking Dead 4.0 if you prefer) and the upcoming Walking Dead 5: A Good Day to Walk Dead.

But there's already a standard naming convention:

    Game: Title (Our first game!)
Game: Title 2: Title-er (People bought our first game!)
Game: Title 3: Difference (We need to change up our game...)
Game (People didn't like New Coke; time for Classic Coke)
Game: Spinoff (We were bought out and the publisher brought in a new team from Canada)
Game 2 (Thus masking how well-trod this road is)
Game: Spinoff 2 (Milk that cow, Erma!)
Game 3 (Our publisher overlords need new Ferraris in every color)
    Game: Spinoff 3 (Paint-by-numbers development)
Game: Buzzword (Just phoning it in at this point)
Game: New Buzzword (I don't know what I'm doing anymore)
Buzzword: Game (The original lead designer gets to dust off this ancient IP? Awesome.)

Deception is cropping up a fair bit now.

Plenty in fighting games (though not always with a colon).

    Game: EX
    Ultimate Game
    Game: Alpha

    and of course

    Game versus Game

"64" is the mostest subtitle, hands down.

Revengeance is an actual English word, but it's obsolete. Look it up in a dictionary!

    I disagree.
The Lord of the Rings: The Battle For Middle Earth 2: The Rise of the Witch King is a much better contender.

I like Magics: The Gatherings: Duels of the Planeswalkers, since it can only be properly said in the voice of that Bronx guy from Futurama. Disney's ACTION GAME featuring Hercules is another industry highlight; it proves we can still pull off this madness even after the colons run out, which is a relief.

Except thanks to the Wii U, everything will be [NAME HERE] U. Urgh. You have all these creative people making an entire game, yet not one person can come up with a title that isn't just adding a U on the end?

For the record, I would buy more games if they followed the Die Hard 2 naming strategy. For example:

Battlefield 4: Battle Harder (alt. Field Harder)
Call of Duty 75: Call Harder
    Assassins' Creed: Creed Harder

    Etc.
Powered by Steam. And biscuits. I'm also a twit and dabble in creative writing.

A Good Day to Battle Fields.
I think of [the Internet] as a grisly raw steak laid out on a porcelain benchtop in the sun, covered in chocolate hazelnut sauce. In the background plays Stardustís Music Sounds Better With You. Thereís lots of fog. --tomeoftom

You ruined his point by putting it in context thatís cheating -bull0

That video is one of justifications for YouTube's existence.
