Dawnstar - it's a space shooter and the trailer is...

Well - erm - it caught my attention...

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gBOGz6JQiMk

Some of you should watch it muted - others with the audio enabled - I'm willing to bet your opinions will be quite divided if you do that :)

Odd tho - you want eons for a spacey-flyboy-shooter and 2 turn in the same week!?

As someone who watched with volume on: I lost interest at about the time the first shot was fired :p
    Steam: Gundato
    PSN: Gundato
If you want me on either service, I suggest PMing me here first to let me know who you are.

I watched it muted first time and thought it looked a bit meh - then it repeated itself unmuted and I thought "where the hell is that sound coming from"

It's not quite what you expect is it? No idea on the game, sadly, but I like their choice of mood music :)

I like it. The music is nice and there are spaceships.

Haha, that was unexpected. Still, I grew fond of the general style and I love that music so I'm going to keep an eye on it. Thanks for this.

Looking at the reviews on Desura, people seem to be digging it. It clearly has some nasty bugs and holes (you can't apparently stop incoming missiles in any way and removing parts doesn't remove their effects!!) but those are fixable things...

The overall tone of user reviews is certainly better than SSZ has managed thusfar - one review simply called it 'Borderlands in Space' which is a real "can open, worms everywhere" thing in itself ;)

I almost feel like buying it JUST because they used that music - it's a trailer, it caught my attention - well done!

The appalling voice work is at great odds with the soundtrack.

Is the rest of the game's OST like that? Because I absolutely love it.

I like the OST, not a big fan of the dialogue. The game's style looks pretty interesting, made me immediately think of Borderlands, but I don't know if the game itself looks good.
Powered by Steam. And biscuits. I'm also a twit and dabble in creative writing.

That's not appalling voice work - you need to look at 1C's output - Men of War, Majesty/Ardania titles etc. for appalling voice work.

or anything done by TotalBiscuit, perhaps ;)

Do you think I will like it as a former X3 vet?

Nice, looking forward to co-oping this. Big question still remains..when will it be available? Release trailer is misleading...

I like. I'm a sucker for shiny missile trails and unending laser beams.

The gameplay seems as laid back as the music. Which probably isn't a good thing for a shooter.

got it, played it, and the game was full of bugs for me. no sound during gameplay (but sound during cutscenes), messed up mouse controls (i think that had to do with my ps3 controller being plugged in).
