Is it Deus Ex ?
Is it Deus Ex ?
... I take the lives of a few to protect the lives of many. I commit acts of war to preserve the greater peace. I take no joy in killing, but make no mistake; I'll do what needs to be done. Because it's my job. It's my duty. My name is Sam Fisher, and I am a Splinter Cell.
Chariots, chariots. This video is filled with gold.
2013 Great Game Challenge Completion: 131/171 - 76.61%
XP GRANTED FOR BECOMING JARL OF A TRIBE OF FROST GIANTS, THEN IMMEDIATELY KICKING THEM ALL OUT OF THE TRIBE.
Ahem.
Daerred: I found an old lady and rescued a cat. We each got an apple.
Shandra: Well, if it had been the Captain doing it, the cat would be lost, the tree burned down, and the old lady would be traveling with us now.
There's a lot more CoH quotes that I just love:
Riflemen:
“Jesus, Conrad. Tie your fucking laces!”
“Break's over, back to the war!”
“Drop your dicks and move the fuck out!”
Wirbelwind Flakpanzer (when raining): "Rain... Open top tank.... Great engineering."
M45 Quadmount Halftrack: “Kraut-mower, standing by!”
American Sniper: “Trick or treat you fucking kraut.”
American Engineers:
“A little gas, a little spark and BOOM! Instant barbecue!”
“If a mouse farts in this goddamn minefield, I want his ass blown sky high!”
“If I see one more fuckin' bag of dirt...”
“Engineers, listen up! You might learn something here!”
M4 Sherman: “What does that bike think it's trying to do?”

"You take the Klingon's detached hand"
Pretty much any of the technology or building quotes from Alpha Centurai.
We hold life to be sacred, but we also know the foundation of life consists in a stream of codes not so different from the successive frames of a watchvid. Why then cannot we cut one code short here, and start another there? Is life so fragile that it can withstand no tampering? Does the sacred brook no improvement?
- Chairman Sheng-ji Yang, "Dynamics of Mind"
The Warrior's bland acronym, MMI, obscures the true horror of this monstrosity. Its inventors promise a new era of genius, but meanwhile unscrupulous power brokers use its forcible installation to violate the sanctity of unwilling human minds. They are creating their own private army of demons.
- Commissioner Pravin Lal, "Report on Human Rights"
I vanted orange. It gave me lemon-lime

A lot of the banter the guards in the Thief series spew out is great. You kinda need to hear their accent to fully appreciate it though.
Trooper A: "This is my last day on this shift."
Trooper B: "Oh yeah, where you moving?"
Trooper A: "Sector 7 had an opening, so I applied."
Trooper B: "Not bad, should be a quiet last day."
- Stormtroopers, right before an ex-Jedi lands on them like a sumo wrestler.
There are only two sorts of people in this world: Artillery operators, and their targets! - Wargame: EE (Quote is paraphrased, in the game every artillery operator says it in their own native langauge).
Dun dun duuun dun dududunduuun duun (Ride of the Valkyries) - Helo pilots in Wargame: EE.
"How'd that plan turn out for ya,dummy?" - Engineer TF2
...and this one too
"I used to be an adventurer like you, then I took an arrow in the knee" - Every single guard in Skyrim
Please don't hate me...
What a lovely quote! It contains so many conflicting emotions and tells a succint but emotional story of the life of the everyguard. In his voice I hear admiration for my chosen profession, wistfulness and maybe even a hint of jealousy -- but also a head-patting brotherly affection, reminding me that in some way's I'm a mere upstart and other people in this world were following quest markers long before my time. I hear Uncle Rico (from Napoleon Dynamite) saying "You ever wish you could just go back?" and a reminder that nothing is certain. Is the guard indulging in wholesome memories of younger years, or is he whiling away the days pining for pristine knees? Or is he just making excuses for his lack of courage or skill, or whichever other reason it is that he never made it to the majors?
(On a more superficial level -- is there one particular bandit who goes around targeting knees, or is this a coincidental epidemic?)
Speaking of Skyrim, I'm sure I speak for us all when I say that boarding a bus or other form of transportion-for-hire is now an exercise in resisting the urge to ask, with hesitant hopefulness, "C-can you...can you take me to any one of the Holds?"

"Gnash them snappers, kid; I got a sock that eats like a meal. This putrid, unwashed, puss-soaked, blood-crusted sock was fermenting around a gangrenous stump of a foot for eight and half months. This is the chewiest, smelliest sock you'll ever have the luck to nosh on. And you're just a short Q&A away from suckin' this baby dry."
Anachronox.
The first one was eaaassy of course as it had a character name but it was so fitting it had to be included. The second one was Cespenar from Throne of Bhaal, not Deeking of NWN. However those who said that get 1/2 points for being in the right realm.
Some great ones from System Shock 2, my favourite 'last words' and the only game I didn't mind audio-logs in. Not that it made any more sense there but at least it was fresher.
"Screw Diego, Screw Korenchkin, Screw Tau Ceti 5. If anyone finds this, don't have any regrets on punching my clock. I was already gone."
"They've killed my men and now they've killed me. I'm holding my guts inside me with both hands; I'm almost done. Resist. This is bigger than my little life, the lives of my men, and the lives of the people I was forced to kill. Resist. Humanity demands it. Resist."
