    Zelda Fans

My copy of Hyrule Historia was waiting for me on the porch when I got home. Holy shit is it amazing. Crammed full of concept art, sketches, and pictures, yet still more text than I could probably read in a year. I sat down with it and before I knew it I had spent my entire lunch break flipping through it. Anyone else get a copy?

Nah, but seeing the review on it on Eurogamer had me pointing a couple of my Zelda obsessed friends towards it as it looks rather lovely.

a year?? it's only 274 pages isn't it? I can go through that in 8 hours and English isn't even my first language :/

Zelda is really a guilty pleasure for me. The gameplay and sense of discovery are just amazing, but it's so freaking childish! I tried to turn some friends on to Ocarina of Time when I was back in uni. I managed to dump the rom and set up the awesome ultraHLE emulator on a dorm friend's PC with a voodoo 2. I hyped the game up "this is one of the BEST games you will ever see!". 2 minutes in, the guys huddled on the lower bunk bed literally LOL'ed when the friggin fairy (I think that thing is called Navi) started chirping and crap. I was so embarrassed :(
I play it when I know I'm completely alone, it's the new porn for me :P

I'm a slow reader! No, seriously, even most of the pictures are jam packed with the designer's notes. They have concept art for pretty much every single character to ever be in a Zelda game. Even ones that only have one line. You can read multiple notes about the way a shopkeeper's robe should be trimmed. It's the most in depth thing I've ever seen. I've already had about 3 "I CAN'T BELIEVE I NEVER NOTICED THAT!" moments. It's just great.

Anyways, never be ashamed to play some of the greatest games ever made. Wear your Zelda flag with pride! This is coming from a guy with a Triforce sticker on his car.

Nobody sits down and reads straight through a coffee table book. I don't even own any and I know that.

Then again, I greatly question the decision to buy a coffee table book about video game lore.
