I absolutely adored that game, if it comes to steam I will buy it in a heartbeat.

Age of Empires II (and the expansion, the icon in the link is that of the expansion) and Rise of Nations are instabuys really. They're games that I installed from dodgy disks when I was young in Sri Lanka and played for eons.

Looks like an old Ensemble programmer is working at Valve now. He wanted to access the source so that he could port the game to DirectX9 and remove the online stuff. Looks like he made it.

Checking the database again (see the GAF link in my post that brought up AOE2) and there are new additions; payment methods (ie. single, 4-pack etc.). That's basically the tell-tale sign that it's assuredly coming.

So, AOE2 has been confirmed. Fez entry in the database updated with purchasing options. Angry Birds Space has just been added to Steam.

What are Microsoft up to? Is this the death knell for GFWL? Seemingly every few days, the leaked list seems to be growing in validity.

    To wit:

    ValveTestApp209320 (Steam Wallet Trading)
Duke Nukem 3D: Atomic Edition (Duke Nukem 3D+) - confirmed

    ValveTestApp224340 (Fast and Furious 6)
    ValveTestApp223650 (FEAR Online)

    ValveTestApp223280 (Cut the Rope)

ValveTestApp223100 (Homefront 2) - unconfirmed, but highly likely

ValveTestApp227780 (Serious Sam: Revolution) - confirmed

ValveTestApp222260 (Europa Universalis IV - BETA) - any reason to doubt this?

ValveTestApp219260 (QUantum Conundrum 2) - unconfirmed, but likely

    ValveTestApp219110 (The Hobbit)
ValveTestApp206420 (Saints Row Episode 4) - unconfirmed, but highly likely
    ValveTestApp203270 (Saints Row IV) - //

ValveTestApp216760 (Halo: Combat Evolved) - dismissed in the vaguest PR comment possible with ONLY reference to Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary

ValveTestApp216780 (Halo 2) - GFWL supported servers announced to be turned off, then in the eleventh hour kept back on until the summer 'to find alternative solutions'. (AOE2, of note, will use Steam for its MP.)
    ValveTestApp216800 (Halo 3)
ValveTestApp205890 (Runescape) - they are doing a re-release and it's FTP, so it would fit Steam
ValveTestApp211560 (Crysis 2 GOTY) - possible alternative name for the 'Maximum Edition' and has gone unused?
ValveTestApp204450 (Call of Juarez Gunslinger) - unconfirmed, but likely

ValveTestApp202800 (Dungeons & Dragons: Neverwinter Nights Complete)
ValveTestApp202780 (Dungeons & Dragons Anthology: The Master Collection)
    ValveTestApp210550 (Angry Birds Space) - confirmed/released

ValveTestApp210540 (Angry Birds Seasons) - unconfirmed, but now highly likely

    ValveTestApp209910 (Peter Jackson's King Kong)

    ValveTestApp102300 (World of Tanks)
ValveTestApp210530 (Angry Birds Rio) - unconfirmed, but now highly likely

    ValveTestApp224400 (LucasArts Test App)

    Baldur's Gate 2: Complete (Baldur's Gate 2 - Complete)
    ValveTestApp107410 (Arma 3 Alpha) - confirmed/released

    ValveTestApp91300 (Sacred 3)

    ValveTestApp72790 (Prey2)

    ValveTestApp44350 (GRID 2) - confirmed/in-store
    ValveTestApp71340 (Total War: Cavemen)

    ValveTestApp65160 (Bus Simulator)

    ValveTestApp65150 (Ship Simulator)

ValveTestApp221520 (Civ V - Frankenstein) - confirmed (see below posts)
    CivilizationV-EXE-Frankenstein - //
    CivilizationV-BaseContent-Frankenstein - //

    Saw2 (Saw 2)
ValveTestApp32520 (Star Wars Generic Shooter )
    ValveTestApp32320 (Lego Star Wars 2)

Medal of Honor: Pacific Assault (Medal of Honor Pacific Assault)

ValveTestApp9020 (Return to Castle Wolfenstein Enemy Territory)
ValveTestApp220050 (The Walking Dead : Survival Instinct)

    ValveTestApp224760 (Fez) - confirmed/purchase options recently added

I thought this had been confirmed as their internal test build.

Yes, it was. Which is a pity. Because now I'm left with a hankering for a Vampire faction led by Bela Lugosi.

I can't possibly go back to Civ IV after playing the stack-less wonderfulness of Civ 5. Seriously, those stacks of death go fudge themselves.

The end...of productivity, that is! And generic shooter, being realistic, is a great name if you're actively trying to hide what you're doing. My first thought would be to 1313, but it looks like that might be in some sort of limbo after LucasArts was bought by Disney and the latter's focus on image. Sigh.

Presumably they'd have the last laugh by being one of the few people to not have their game immediately leaked.

Will be 10 years old in May. The Gamespy-enabled multiplayer was killed in December but it can be played with GameRanger.
I'd like a Rise of Legends re-release too, but there's no chance after how hard it bombed.

So I saw murmurs on (where else but) GAF regarding Final Fantasy 8 on Steam. Now, 7 and 8 have been in the database for a bit. They also had PC ports back in the day. We obviously know that Square Enix had intentions of re-releasing with them at some point and true enough, they recently made 7 Win7 compatible. (You could certainly make an argument that SE, in trying to make their own DD store, what better game would be able to spear-head it than FF7? Obviously it did as well as it did, although I have no intention, nor care, to see what those numbers were. Regardless, after however many they got from there, they could get a second wind if they put it on Steam because why not? The infrastructure seems to be there and if it's as simple as submitting a folder, well they have one ready to go.)

Anyhow, getting back on point; the above link shows that just recently, achievements were added to FF8's entry (and there's also been another update in the last few hours). So without looking at the database stuff because I can't be bothered, I went onto Steam and looked through the community game hubs, essentially the crux of how this thread came to be in the first place and typed in Final Fantasy 8. No luck. However, in my haste, I didn't stop typing after Final Fantasy because if I had, I'd have noticed amongst the entries for XI and XIV, there's one for VIII. Currently, clicking on it does nothing, but it's there in the database.

So, who knows? But if you like drawing your magic, casting GFs and rapidly hitting a button to boost the damage of them in what will be a tireless exercise, you might be in for a treat soon!

(While I was at it, I also had a look to see if I could find the Halo community game hubs. Typing in Halo gives up Halo: Combat Evolved and 2. No sign of 3 there, but there is for the official player group, although there aren't any for 1 or 2.)

(Also, if anyone can recommend to me a good image hosting site, I'll take pics of these things. Hopefully the details should allow you to try it for yourself though. I've seen imgur used a lot. Is that good?)

EDIT: Heh, and just as I post this, I notice something that should keep everyone's hopes about what's found in check; just because a game is in the database doesn't mean it will come out!

I'll make a separate post for this because it's a new crazy theory I've just had.

ValveTestApp32520 (Star Wars Generic Shooter )

I just remembered that Kotaku recently got a hold of leaked information regarding a SW FPS. It's made reference to being a "downloadable multiplayer shooter" (although for XBLA, I could easily see it being ported) and a prelude to a Battlefront 3. The same article also indicates it was potentially to be released this spring, but obviously there's the whole LucusArts and Disney thing, plus a couple of other tid-bits in the article too.

Maybe the suggestion that the entry for 1313 was wrong. I mean, 1313 had shooting in and you could arguably refer to it as generic for its genre, but it looked more like an action adventure to me and, much like everyone else, closer to Uncharted than a straight up shooter. Then you take this though, which does look like a generic FPS, in the purest sense. Perhaps this is what that database entry was in reference to? Of course, it looks like it won't be coming out now, but as I keep saying in this thread, who knows?

This one seems to be called 'First Assault' (generic by name, generic by nature, hurrah!) and lack any single player. I would not be upset if they made an RC2 though.
