Rather than posting a list, I uploaded three pictures here. Still missing so many essential releases...
- If the sound of Samuel Barber's "Adagio For Strings" makes you think of Kharak burning instead of the Vietnamese jungle, most of your youth happened during the 90s. -
There was a big box version of Mark of Chaos? Why?!
Nice collection you've got there.
Like so many, I had to throw away many of my boxed copies as a youth for space reasons (those big boxes take up a lot of room!) including some treasures I now wish I'd kept (Baldur's Gate, Morrowind Collector's, etc.) However, I kept five, not for value but because I liked them: Torment, Longest Journey, Grim Fandango, Deus Ex, and Escape from Monkey Island (hey, I like the box art). Ended up being good choices!
The entire Marathon trilogy box set. Discarded six months ago in a moment of madness.
I currently have Lightspeed and the Wolfenstein 3D box that came with the hint book and Spear of Destiny.
I can't say I'd like to have all the old boxes of the games I used to have, but goddamned if I wouldn't kill to still have those old manuals.
I'm not much of a collector, but I do have a couple of my original old games still in their boxes which for some reason I can never seem to throw away.
Jet Set Willy (ZX Spectrum)
Alien, with the original exclusive graphic novel of the film (ZX Spectrum)
Asteroids cartridge for the Dragon 32
and a couple of ancient Oric games
In case anyone is interested here is the Alien box... I seem to remember that this was one of the very first games which seemed to take the box art and contents seriously...

- Half-life series
- Tomb Raider
- Warcraft III collectors
- Starcraft collectors
- GTA 1
- Discworld the game
- UFO: Enemy Unknown

I have some SNES stuff down in the garage, and i started to play on PC with games like Descent I & II and Quake (but not on my PC, i didn't have one at the time). When i assembled my first PC, i started to play with this games, the boxes of which i conserve jealously:
Commandos
Grim Fandango
Myth 2
Ultima IX
Unreal Tournament
Thief & Thief 2
Total Annihillation
Tiberian Sun
Steam profile
PC Specs: I have a big e-peen
Creator of Steam Greenlight LITE
Part of the reason I made this thread is because I have an interest in learning about older games and how they were made back in the day. I've scoured Youtube for various videos and found a lot of decent ones, but have only just discovered these. I highly recommend watching them if you have an interest.
*shameless bump*

Here's my collection. Nothing impressive. Includes the very first big box game I bought (Heavy Gear 2) and the latest one (Thief 2). I have Arcanum on the way :)
The jewel case above PS:T and Alpha Centauri is Fallout 2.
