Before TB was a youtube celebrity, he was a regular commentator on here.

Was really weird when I found out he was e-famous for other things the first time.

I'm the guy in the right of both pictures, if that wasn't clear.

It would have been very impressive if you'd been in the left of both pictures.

Indeed! And I should go to bed. Why are you keeping me awake?

This community is proving to be too much fun for me. I should quit.

What do you do when not slaughtering TR scum? Make Theatre and Music happen, I do not act or play.

What brought you to Rock Planet Shotgun/Rock Traitor Shotgun?
I've been reading RPS for a few years, PS2 seemed awesome, RPS in PS2 seemed logical...

Were/are you active in another RPS community?
I enjoyed the Arma2 group for a bit and played in the Mount and Blade outfit until it imploded.

Anything else you want us to know?
I still have not traced the origin of the flies, they continue to appear in ones and twos daily, I probably have an ex-girlfriend story for every occasion.

Well, since pictures are now the in thing...

And the interior (although my friend's shitty stiching software has turned me into a midget here):

What an end for number 52, one the games greatest players. Pity he was involved in a murder earlier on in his career. Sullies things a bit.

The signalbox at Highley station on the preserved Severn Valley Railway, dating from 1887 or so. Still in use every day the line is open, so about 200+ days per year; signalling is the art of "steering trains", as I was once told! Once a year we throw out everything we've got and run constantly from Friday morning to Sunday evening: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=as1e7TemNaY

(Having randomly found a video of the line, that is actually me at 1:40 - probably not looking my best as this was about 6:30am, having been on duty since about 7pm the day before!)

It's what's known as a token, which is essentially the driver's permission to be on the track between my signalbox and the next one. Since our railway is single-track, it would be a bad thing to have two trains going in opposite directions between two stations - so each station/signal box has a machine (the "token instrument") linked to one in the next signal box, containing some tokens, and the driver needs a token to be on the single line. A signalman can only get a token out of his instrument with the cooperation of the signalman at the other end, and ridiculously clever Victorian engineers designed the system so that it will only ever allow one token to be out at one time (so once a token is out, it has to be placed back into one machine or another).

Clearly it'd be rather silly to have to stop every train to give him one of those tokens, and being only about the size of a large mobile phone, would be quite hard to catch, so we use token carriers to hand them to the driver. Of course, since the train has just left another section of line for which he needed a token, he now has one he can hand to me- which I'll then return to the relevant machine, and either I or the signalman at the other end can then get a token out for a new train.

That's the 5-minute version, anyway! One thing that might be of interest is that this system, dating back to the 1880s, is still in use in places on the "big railway" in the UK, as well as several other countries, and that modern equivalents use exactly the same principles, albeit with computers and radio signals.

If only there was an internet connection there... What does happen often is someone phones up just before a train arrives (often someone who knows it's just about to arrive!).
