Once we know when the patch hits we may want to make sure we don't have guild upgrades going when it hits so if the guild events need an upgrade slot we have at least one open.

This is a pretty impressive feature addition for a free monthly update. As someone on Reddit said, you can imagine guild missions being a major back-of-the-box bullet point for a paid expansion.GW2: Saphnabylni & co.

@Squirrel, I don't think boosting MF would be a good idea, Karma buff is already hefty costing, speeding it up twice. 1250 influence per speed up, iirc. At the moment we are slowly running out of influence. Though we have influence to spend.
@Noaru, researching and keep the MF buff isn't too much of a big hassle. And the buff lasts for 3 days. I don't see any reason to keep it off the list, since it affects at such big scale, even though it is just a 10% increase. For the cost and research time, it is a pretty good addition to everyone. Considering the buff affecting every aspect of the game, cept spvp. Dungeons, wvw, pve.
Hopefully more build queues, due to the current rotation. I wouldn't really want to leave the MF buff behind, but if the new content can't fit in to the rotation, that is probably one option to take.
Good ideas from everyone, we will see how we do it when the content is live and how the current research rotation will unfold. Would be really nice to have missions everyday!

This suggests that guild missions will reward 50 silver and two rare-or-better items. Nice. The rewards are limited to once per mission type per week though.

I'm curious to know how it works in practice. Does prepping a guild mission require a build slot, or do you just spend 200 influence to trigger it?
If it's the former, we would probably need to schedule the mission on a regular basis, e.g. 8pm GMT every night.
If it's the latter, that'd be pretty cool. We could, for example, have multiple runs per night to accommodate everyone's needs. So, for example, an early run at 17.00, a later run at 19:00, and a late run at 21:00.

Important stuff now:
As you can see in the table below, each Guild Mission other than Guild Bounty requires the previous Guild Mission unlocked. This means that there is a natural order of progression in the sense that you can only unlock Guild Missions in this order: Bounty –> Treks –> Rushes –> Challenges –> Puzzle.
In addition, due to the Guild Merit requirement and the weekly Guild Merit cap, a guild cannot unlock all Guild Missions at once even if they have tons of influence to spare to speed up the upgrades.[GW2] The Blackfyre clan: Aliss (Guardian) Alyss (Mesmer) Nalyn (Engineer) Noaru (Elementalist)

I feel the implementation of guild missions has been dealt with in a pretty confusing way. As time of writing this, there is an already 17 page long comment (ok, maybe also "whining") thread about GM on the official forums. The system is tailored to reward bigger guilds, but smaller ones - and I suppose there are far more smaller than bigger guilds around - will never be able to unlock those missions. This may in part be intentional because these missions apparently require quite a bunch of people to participate, however this could be circumvented by grouping up with other small guilds or random players. But since nobody apart from the event hosting guild gets the special rewards for finishing the missions, there is really no motivation for others to contribute.
Not to mention the horrendous costs required to unlock them in the first place.

I guess I understand why they wanted these missions to be something guilds have to work towards, rather than something that's unlocked by default. (Otherwise you could get around the one-big-reward-per-week-per-type rule by having everyone create their own guild, for one thing.) But I agree that it is kind of odd to lock off certain rewards from smaller guilds.
The biggest gripe, though, is that they didn't let us pre-purchase the bounties upgrade three days before the update.GW2: Saphnabylni & co.

Lets wait for GW2 official responses. So far the thing that only Guild members get rewarded comes from sites. I can't think that non guild members will get so little reward for taking part.
