Capital! I think the Blood Bowl sub-forum could well do with having its FAQ stickyfied -

I don't know if the other players feel the same but I think having The Strategonomicon stickyed in the solium subforum would be nice.

Those are the basics for the GW2 forum. Don't know about more guide-like threads. We don't have a lot of those.
Not exactly what your post is about, but could we perhaps get a subforum for Rock Paper Synapse? We're coming up on our 19th season (almost two years of playing!). If we get one I promise to start a thread that's appropriately sticky.
