Frozen Synapse League - Season 18

Sign-ups for Season 18 are now open!

I'm open to suggestions about which mode we should play. Dark Upload is most likely on current votes.

If you would like to take part please do three things:

    1) Add yourself to this list. Vote for your preferred game mode while you're there.

    2) PM your email address to me (optional, but it will be very useful if I need to give you a nudge). I will not disclose it to anyone else, except maybe WombatDeath or whoever takes over admin duties after me, and even then only with your permission. If you have previously PM'd your address to WombatDeath in an earlier season please consider sending it to me too.

    3) Click here to go to the RPS forum settings and edit the 'Private Messaging' section so that you get an email and/or a popup when someone (e.g. me) sends you a PM.

Season 18 will begin on Saturday the 2nd of March and will last until the 17th, so please don't sign up if you expect to be unavailable for that period. Rules will be slightly different from previous seasons, as laid out in the Season 17 thread, but all will be explained in this thread before the season kicks off.

New and old players are all welcome! No experience required, and weaponry will be provided. Sign up!

    Hey guys,
I'd love to play, but I'm on holidays from the 4th to the 11th and won't be around. I'm happy to play my games in the short period at the end, but I'm cool to take a break this season if you think that's cutting it too fine.

You'll still have most of the second week, and we always overrun. Game on, I say.

In like Flynn. I can't do much poorer this time around, I suppose.

Well, I'm terrible at Upload which seems to be what we'll end up playing. So my goal for the season is to avoid relegation :)

Think I'll dip back in for this round.

Don't call it a comeback, etc.

Nice to have you back. You'll have to start at the bottom again though!

On the upside, your match against Zlabi is easily the most entertaining of the season so far :v

Watch and vote for the best match video of season 17! Just say which one of these games you liked best. I've watched all games in all leagues and there are a lot more great ones, the choice had been tough for sure. Anyone can post their suggested matches videos of season 17, I am by no means the ultimate jury.

Here it goes: (numbers before the games are for voting purposes only)

    1.Game 663592 ColOfNature vs Gotem (a 3-turn demolishion)
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i2zdDgXT5NY&feature=youtu.be

2.Game 664648 BigBobr99 vs Maetco (The winner of Division 1 was decided in this game)
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fhdzN...ature=youtu.be

3.Game 209786 SergBeaver vs Majic (shows what boldness and anticipation can do against a skilled opponent)
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q7ZeU...ature=youtu.be

4.Game 663476 Maetco vs Cimethink (a long and a very tense game of 2 evenly matched opponents, resulting in Maetco's 1st ever win against cimethink)
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=feE_A...ature=youtu.be

    5.Game 663110 BigBobr99 vs Cimethink (turn 2, grenade, i'll say nomore)
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S39B2...ature=youtu.be

6.Game 662391 Bonuswavepilot vs Rond (brave rocket man decides the game surviving up to the end)
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TZtDC...ature=youtu.be

I prefer watching those ingame, youtube videos do the job as well, but there's no way of telling when 1 turn ended and the other started.

I feel had I went for Maetco's sniper a round earlier I'd have done better. But then, every loss has those moments where had one done something just a little bit different, victory would have been assured. One reason why I love this game so, stressful though it may be.

I'd also like to point out that this season I dropped about 30 places globally on the UK1 server. Ouch!

I seriously had nightmares about dudes from synapse running around and shooting the night before that last match with Maetco. Synapse is stressfully addictive.

A week without the tournament will calm my nerves and relieve the stress. I have to remind myself that it's just a game and go smash some dudes against the boards during my hockey practice. That usually helps with nerves, anyways :)

    Throw a check for me!

We're holding up two fingers because we just lost the championship game. Two Russians played on this team, by the way.

Intimidated by Cimethink's physical strength I've decided to take all the necessary precautions before starting our new game.

I've challenged you, my hockey friend (cimethink), in game 676739.

Haven't taken my turn yet, some urgent things have just come up. Will do tomorrow. Have fun and good luck!

This one gets my vote. The shotgunner is an aggressive dude, we all know, but it was such a joy to watch how he traversed the whole field to get that box. yeah, you can call me bastard... the rushin' bastard :)
