    WarCluster - MMO social game on Twitter

    Hi!
    We are announcing our first in-house game http://warcluster.com :D It is 2-months-in-the-making and it would be great to gather some negative(or positive) feedback about the project

    We wanted to create something really massive, that can be super simple, but still have an impact on how players are having fun. With a lot of brainstorming (and little dreaming) we’ve come up with War Cluster. We thought that it would be cool that the universe of the game can be based on a Social Network (the players can be the “content”) and thus War Cluster quickly become the first social game on Twitter, a very ambitious project still in development by Denitsa,Kiril, David, Paveland Vitaliy

    MMO
    Imagine a colossal battles of over 35million daily players (similar magnitude like of a facebook social game from zynga) in one persistant server. Total carnage! >:D
    Real Time
    Our backend is written on Go and our frontend is using everything HTML5 can offer. That’s why we focus that the real time experience can be really Real-Time. The spectator mode will be spectacular watching all of these space armies clashing and becoming debris. Pure annihilation! Wooo-hooo.
    Social
    We will abuse a lot the Twitter API so that we make sure everything is kept as social at it can be. We don’t mean *spam* or anything dirty like that – we mean that in order to be a leader of a space empire you have to communicate a lot.
    Strategy
    A minimalistic approach towards the strategy genre. Everything is very easy to learn yet hard to master. The additional meta game in the form of robust diplomacy in the Twitter universe will add a layer of “planning before acting”.
    Arcade
    We’re having real fun and it’s very addicting developing this game We hope that feeling stays in the game. We’re having a lot of “arcade” hackathons and we hope we can translate that in the gameplay too ^_^
    Browser based
    Yeah, every magic that runs the game will happen in your browser – no downloading, no installing etc. Just login and play The power of the web technologies yeaaaaaaaaaaah \m/ >_< \m/

    This sounds pretty cool! Is there going to be anything in place to prevent Notch from becoming Space Emperor? With that kind of power, it would only take one tweet to change the galaxy forever...

    @Malawi Frontier Guard haha, no I'm just from Bulgaria (eastern Europe) and my english is probably pretty lame. The initial forum post is taken from our blog http://game-craft.com/blog/2013/02/2...ement/?lang=en

    The game will be real-time MMO RTS - you control planets which produce spaceships so that you may conquer other planets from the galaxy (there will be no AI, sorry. only PvP :))

    @SubparFiddle lol, I doubt we can reach Notch's reputation :D although I can dream about it :)

    At least it's starting to look like an actual game. I thought this was going to be some kind of Twitter viral vaporware bullshit.

    Well, it will :D We hope with twitter to make it massive, thats why we're counting on its API. We need some critical mass in order to test our game idea. I mean: imagine EVE online with only 100 players - it will be boring :)

    Right now most of the RTSs don't support real massive battles of the magnitude of 10k vs 10k. That's why we will include some form of viral mechanics in order to obtain some players and create a annihilation. It may sound stupid yes but every game has it's own idea and that's ours - MMO RTS in your web browser :) Soon we will launch the closed beta - I'll be very happy if you can give us some feedback :?
