my pc is 3 years old in march, have reached the upgrade limit on it really, having replaced the gpu twice and added an ssd.. waiting for the next set of gsync enabled monitors to hit the market.. that and money obviously! unfortunately dont have the time to be assembling my own (that and the prospect of two small children and a cat jumping on me just as I'm dropping the cpu into place..) been looking at dinopc as they seem to have good specs and customisation, even better than pcspecialist that I've had my last two pc's from.. they seem to have gone fairly mainstream.

Nope. Didn't ask for one, and I'm not all that interested, frankly. Don't feel like I need another classic MMO right now, though, as mentioned in a really inappropriate thread, EQN looks interesting. If it manages to become something a little different I might want to give that a try whenever.

    Have fun, though!

EQN is going to be the way forwards, much more interested in that, but I'll certainly give ESO a whirl.

Reviews I've read aren't sounding good though. Very likely could be another skin for SW:TOR

EQN is the game I'm looking forward to the most this year

I used CyberPower for my older computer. Very happy with the service and price from them.

www.aria.co.uk if you're in the UK. Cannot recommend them enough.

I might or might not have one as well, might possibly or maybe not give it a whirl after Freedom Friday.

Cool that you're already planning to check out Aria. I'm just going to add my positive experiences with them here:

    1. They were helpful when I asked them about specs and availability before buying from them.
    2. The website is nice and handy.
    3. They didn't quibble when I returned a CPU after having bought the wrong one.
    4. The returns and RMA process was easy and quick.
    5. They had some really good offers (keep an eye on their short time limited offers, good stuff comes up)
    6. An actual human emailed me to check that all was ok and helped with the CPU swap. Her email footer said 'account manager' - I'm not sure if everyone gets such an email or if it's just for people who spend a reasonable amount (I spent £600+ on bits and bobs).

Since branded PC components are literally the same from any shop I'd recommend Aria for service and pricing.

    Wally is now on Steam!

I imagine they email a lot of people asking these questions as it's part of their awesome service. They are known to keep customers of all varieties happy so you keep going back and recommend others. I can only imagine how much money they've made from me if you include the £1300 I've spent there myself, and all the recommendations I give.

I've had good service with Aria too in the past.
For a few of the machines I got from CyberPower they upgraded parts for free since they weren't going to get stock in for a few weeks. Got a nicer processor out of things which was good.

finding it difficult to look at the cyberpower website though, its a bit too colourful and funky for my old corporate eyes..

early days but finding dinopc is consistently about £50 quid cheaper than these others, your points about service duly noted..

will carry on playing and comparing as researching is half the fun..

    yeah the website is terrible.

It's maybe worth having a look at CustomPC magazine to see what they recommend.

It's been a while since I read it so I can't remember if it's just part reviews or full systems I'm afraid.

I bought a PC from Chillblast if you want another recommendation. Very good prices, responsive customer service and when you open up the hood, the build and cable management is very good.

Have got my friend and my Dad to also buy PCs from them - both haven't had any issues.

While we're on the subject of hardware, can anyone recommend a decent HOTAS? If anyone is interested, I'm leaning toward the Saitek X52 right now.
ARMA, Planetside 2 - Lynche (The 'e' is silent)
    Steam, PS3, Minecraft - Safilpope

I went with the Saitek X52 (my first joystick), and it's great. Working out nicely, although it does sometimes slip on my desk surface during use, I can fix that pretty quickly.

I can also recommend Chillblast. I got my PC from them in 2012, no problems of any kind.

Having not touched a desktop PC component for 5 years I built my Mini-ITX gaming rig from scratch in the Summer. It was probably the most challenging type of build due to the tiny amount of space inside the box, but if I managed it anybody can.

Took a weekend to get right, but I would reckon I probably saved 20% (basically whatever the margin in) on a pre-built, and I didn't have to buy the components that I already had.

    Just food for thought...
