Besson used to make great movies. Leon, Le Grand Bleu, Nikita and Subway were amazing.

Then something happen and he made an incredible amount of shitty movies, like he somehow realized how dark and weird movies did not sell while shitty action-packed trash was basically printing cash out of nothing.

I've seen most of the Taxi series, the first one ain't that bad for a pop-corn movie. Heck, I even have a soft spot for Wasabi even if it is properly stupid. I just think Besson is a clever businessman who knows how to make money.

You should have been there - he wouldn't shut up about how good it was, onions notwithstanding.

Anyway, since I missed the webcomics discussion a few pages back, here is one for the MMO players: The Noob. It's properly great, don't worry the art improves a bit as well as you go along. Seems to take a lot of it's cues from Ultima-style MMOs, but happily mocks all sorts of games and gamer culture.

Also used to read Goblins a lot and really dig it. It's based on pen and paper RPGing, starting off as basically just a parody of that stuff. But as it goes along it is funny, somewhat cheesey, amazingly violent, genuinely heartwrenching and incredibly clever. Sadly the creator seems to have suffered a bit of breakdown, which means it is on hiatus at the mo. It also means the comic was left on a ridiculously epic, hundreds of pages in the making cliffhanger. It's another one where the art continually improves, but his attention to detail and characters are always great.

edit: Sonova crap, just saw on the Goblins twitter feed that he posted a teaser yesterday! Might we finally find out what happens to Forgath? Be still my quaking heart...

I'm honestly amazed at the longevity of this series! (..and the CoD/MoHs..) Just thinking about it reminds me of when the first one came out the last few months of high school. And then I feel old. Why did you do this to me Moxxi!? Whyyyyyyy!!! (I just noticed it could be because that's your 666th post...you evil, you! :P)

And this is pretty much why I don't bother watching the news. It's more sad comedy than news. Popcorn makes everything better though.

"who is this 4chan person..." :P.

I have to say, while this was clearly a breach of peoples privacy, I still found it quite funny.

The whole situation was hilariously handled and news coverage like this was shoddy at best.

Talking about passwords when the issue is not really anything to do with that... Its to do with those individuals being shortsighted enough to take these photos and not realise/care that theyare being automatically uploaded to the iCloud.

Having seen some of the photos, they clearly have nothing to be ashamed of. (most of them, anyway :P).

While people are perfectly within reason to react the way some of them have, I personally find the reactions of those that brush it off and make light of the situation preferable.

Shit has happened as it often does, might as well get over it and move on, because its too late now.

Im left wondering whats going to happen to the chap now though. Im also wondering if any of them will sue apple for storing data in a way that it was easily accessible like that.

I hope the punishment its not completely disproportionate to the crime... The guy did wrong, but he shouldnt be put away for a long time for it... people who have done more get less of a punishment.
