Man, some of those ideas are brilliant.

Rock, Paper, Shotgun! You could have different genre for each one, like Shmup for Shotgun, RPG for Paper and... something else for Rock.

    Guitar Hero style, obviously.

Since the last RPS game project thing (that was in unity) involved a rocks, paper and a shotgun. I'm going to stick with top hat (monocle wearing since that seems to be more popular)

Ahhh yes, good old RockPaperShotgUnity. Sadly no longer available for download, from what I can tell. I tried to beat it one time but became bamboozled.

To make my post relevant, I will also mention that I'm not going to vote unless there is a tie, much like the Speaker of the House of Commons.

So far it's the Rock, Paper & Shotgun by a nose, with Monocle'd Top Hat hot on their heels! Truly this is a clash of inanimate titans.

John Travolta the surprise last-minute write-in candidate is lagging far behind, but sports a winsome and gracious smile even in the face of certain defeat -- we expect nothing less.

Is it not heresy for people outside the clergy/RPS staff to depict the Endless Bear? Anyway, while the idea of having an endless protagonist is indeed appealing, Horace is inherently OP so there wouldn't be any challenge in the game.

My vote goes to Rock, Paper and Shotgun. I like the idea of three different genres. Also, while attributes, etc. are to be discussed later on, I humbly suggest having the shotgun fire puns of doom. Alternatively, having puns as "press A to win" function, as we all know and love.

What if an evil wizard put a spell on him to make him finite?
And the entire game is Horace collecting his powers of infinity again to face the evil wizard?
Anyway, I vote for the endless bear.

Endless bear again, with something like a pixelated (censored) face.

I alwais found characters not directly present or visible the most intriguing. Like Godot, by example. It exist, but it's never there, not in the spot light, not fully defined.

For the bear you could also use references to The bear that wasn't.

    Voting, it is over!

A Rock, a Paper, and a Shotgun wins!
(Feel free to check my counting skills; I included c-row's pre-official-announcement vote because it still seemed legit). Endless Bear, maybe we will find a place for you some day too, but you wouldn't fit in it, on account of being endless.

Even though we haven't determined what game to make yet, I have mocked up a vision of our glorious future on the game page, while thinking about mint-chocolate-chip.
But on to more weighty matters!

We must take Nominations! What shall our game's perspective be?

So when I say perspective, I mean the position of the camera, and here's the deal. I can only think of three or four perspectives that work in 2d...there's Top-down; Side-view; Isometric; and that Over-the-shoulder style from gallery shooters or the old 2d Mario Kart games. (Warning: I've only ever done the first two. If our choice ends up Isometric or something even more exotic, I am your servant in these matters and will take it as an educational experience, but my blistering speed may suffer slightly as a result ;).

I don't think this topic is as rife with crazy options as the first one. HOWEVER, please nominate any perspective I forgot about or that you just invented in your mind this very minute! But additionally, since this is a pretty substantial decision, feel free to use the time to expound your thoughts about the pros and cons of various camera-views, so that we will all be informed voters when the time comes. =P

I know we have a party of three main characters so we could conceivably have multiple views -- but in the interests of time and simplicity I only want to pick one for now so that I only have to code one. ;) When we've chosen this, I should be able to start summoning up the skeleton of an engine and usable map editor, which will be comparatively SUPER EXCITING!
