I am sadface, king of sorrow. Dino-biffing remake/sequel Off-Road Velociraptor Safari HD has been more-or-less cancelled. Boo! High concept heroes Flashbang seem to have had a hard time of things lately. Double-boo! They’re not sure whether or not their future holds more absurd delights such as Minotaur Chinashop and Time Donkey. Boo-to-infinity! Best of luck to the good ship Flashbang/Blurst, whatever they do next. You have entertained us fantastically, gentlefolk, and we look forward to you doing it again soon.

Oft-RPS-championed Flashbang have just celebrated their Blurst site’s one-year celebration. However, perhaps somewhat muting the cheers, they’ve announced they’re changing course. We talked about their one-game-every-eight-weeks cycle before. We’ve enjoyed the fruits of their labour. But no more! It seems they simply haven’t gained the audience they were hoping for, so they’re changing course and making a full-retail version of Off-Road Velociraptor Safari instead. More details follow…

Flashbang’s latest opus, Minotaur China Shop is now online, and available to play for free via the Blurst site. Go form opinions. Shack: Favorite dinosaur?

Flashbang: Ravens. We take a cladistic standpoint and demand our taxa be monophyletic, so “dinosaurs” must include Aves, the modern birds.

Shack: Favorite dinosaur video game?

Flashbang: Jurassic Park: Operation Genesis is hands down the best dinosaur related game ever created. Not even kidding.

We mentioned the daft and joyful preview video of Off-Road Velociraptor Safari a couple of weeks back. Well, it’s arrived.

And it’s a stupid amount of fun. It’s a game about driving a jeep, and running over velociraptors! Also performing stunts, collecting drops, and damaging your vehicle, ideally stringing these all together to create a high score in the five minutes available.

The day job of Fun Motion‘s Matthew Wegner is a little more entertaining than most others. He’s at work on the righteously entitled Off-Road Velociraptor Safari, over at Flashbang Studios. Perhaps unsurprisingly, given the peerless physic-game blogging of its creator, this is a game about slaying capturing vicious dinosaurs using… physics. Awesome.
