Wot I Think: A Story About My Uncle

By Philippa Warr on June 30th, 2014.

A Story About My Uncle is actually a story about the narrator’s uncle told as a bedtime story to a small child. Said uncle is a brilliant scientist – a whimsical and even-tempered version of Uncle Quentin from the Famous Five books. A Story About My Uncle I Guess But Mostly Grappling Hooks

By Alice O'Connor on May 12th, 2014.

ZAP!

Hey gang, and welcome back to another exciting round of Judge A Game By Its Name! Today we’re looking at A Story About My Uncle. You’re thinking 2D puzzle-platformer, right? Monochromatic palette, perhaps accented with red. Lots of slow walking sections with quiet introspective narration, surely? It’ll arrive in a few weeks, on May 28, publisher Coffee Stain Studios has announced with a new trailer. (Yes, it now publishes as well as making games like Sanctum and Goat Simulator.)

A Story About My Uncle was a fun, free, first-person platformer released in 2012. Now it’s getting a full release due out this summer, and the first trailer is below.

State Of Xen: A Story About My Uncle

By Alec Meer on July 23rd, 2012.

'Say 'uncle!' 'Uncle.' Oh, that was disappointingly brief.'

Ooh, what’s this in my wheezing inbox? Why, it’s a free first-person platformer from Sweden, made in the Unreal Development Kit, promising fun with a grappling hook within a dramatic, otherwordly landscape. I like it already. I liked A Story About My Uncle even more once I’d played it.
