Blizzard Talks Diablo III’s New Path, Defends Online Req

By Nathan Grayson on November 13th, 2013.

Welp, that’s it. I’ve done all I can do. In an interview with Diablo III: Reaper of Souls‘ lead designers, I attempted to comprehend once and for all why they refuse to simply add an *option* to go offline on PC. The auction house will soon be gone, the console version has no such requirement, and I cannot conceive a universe in which the game’s community suddenly shatters like a beautiful ice crystal just because its members don’t always have to be connected to the internet. And yet, here we are. On the upside, lead designer Kevin Martens and art director Christian Lichtner actually had some rather encouraging things to say about the rest of the game’s direction, though our chat was ultimately, sadly cut short.¬†

Warlords Of Draenor – Outland, Housing, Naked Gnomes

By Nathan Grayson on November 9th, 2013.

World of Warcraft: Warlords of Draenor is officially,¬†incontrovertibly¬†A Thing. But what kind of a thing? Blizzard mega-personality Chris Metzen took the stage to discuss WoW’s “next chapter,” sadly lacking his sunglasses that typically raise the convention’s net sex appeal by 400 percent. He went on to announce that the new expansion, titled World of Warcraft: Warlords of Draenor, is rooted in the stories of Warcraft’s RTSes, Warcraft I, II, and III. Yep, we’re going back to the good old days – but, you know, in MMO form.

BlizzCon Keynote: Heroes Of The Storm MOBA Detailed

By Nathan Grayson on November 8th, 2013.

Blizzard Convention Two Thousand And Thirteen Anno Domini Year Of Our Metzen is upon us. Shortened to “BlizzCon” despite the svelte elegance of its full name, the show is Blizzard’s favorite place for new announcements. I am sitting in a very prickly chair in gaming’s most cavernous convention hall, and I’ll be writing about and recording what happens all weekend. First up, Blizzard’s repeatedly reinvented MOBA Heroes of the Storm.
