Lucky: Seven Minutes Of Call Of Juarez

By Jim Rossignol on July 7th, 2011.

It's a modern Western. Do you see?
Seven minutes of Call Of Juarez: The Cartel! That’s enough time to see a dodgy club scene, witness a vehicular combat chase scene, glimpse a running about in a ghost-town shooting goons scene, and also probably some other stuff. There is a lot of looking through iron-sights, some use of cover, men getting shot, dual-wielding of machine-pistols, cars exploding, and a number of other things you might be pleased to see in a game about gang warfare and drug-cartels in the modern world. Phew.

Ubisoft’s co-op criminal-shooter is set for release on July 22nd.

Call Of Juarez: The Cartel Trailer Is Here

By Quintin Smith on March 4th, 2011.

Some alley gats, there.

“MONEY. DRUGS. AND GUNS,” quoth the new trailer for Call of Juarez’s upcoming modern-day sequel, which is an interesting coincidence as that’s my life motto. Why, only last night I had a bit too much tea and stayed up shooting men in Dawn of War: Retribution until 2am! Ah, this crazy lifestyle of mine will catch up with me one day. But when that day comes and I’m sat there in my wheelchair, old and wrinkled like some forgotten orange, I’ll be able to say that I did it. I stayed up and shot men when I should have been sleeping. I lived the dream.

I actually went to see Call of Juarez being demoed last week, and can confirm that it is both as untouchably masculine and resolutely Wild Westy as the footage implies. Will find the time to write about it very soon. Until then- moving pictures!

Call of Juarez Jumps To Modern Day

By Jim Rossignol on February 7th, 2011.

I'm huntin' me some drugs!
Ubisoft have just confirmed another Call Of Juarez (the cowboy FPS series from Techland) game, this time called The Cartel. Here’s what they say about it: “Call of Juarez The Cartel is set in present-day and brings the best elements of the Wild West to a new and modern setting. As a first person shooter with an immersive and mature story, players can expect to embark on a journey like no other – one that will take them from the heart of modern day Los Angeles, California to Juarez, Mexico.”

It will also have a “gritty and relevant plot”, and it will be out this summer. I also hear Ubi preview events a-callin’, so proper details shouldn’t be too far away.

Outlaws: A Fanfare From A Fanfire Fan

By Tim Stone on August 16th, 2009.

When Call Of Juarez: Bound In Blood  swaggers, spurs jangling, into the Rambling Rose saloon, the only western FPS that doesn’t gulp or look up from his cards is Outlaws. A couple of years ago I wrote a little ode to this Colt classic for PC Gamer UK.
