Bwah? – Interplay Boss Speaks Out On Black Isle Plans

We're baaaaaack! Kind of? Maybe? Honestly, we don't even know.

Yesterday, golden age RPG powerhouse Black Isle Studios abruptly rose from the dead. Now death – according to the many dead people I’ve spoken to in the name of accurate, well-researched reporting – is frequently permanent, so people were a bit surprised when the fallen Fallout factory suddenly whirred back to life. Even the likes of Chris Avellone and Brian Fargo didn’t know what to make of it. But hey, Interplay’s finally chiming in, so it’s time for the world to make sense again, right? Errrrrr.

Impotent: New Cargasm Footage

Imagine if it looked like this.

It’s hard to fathom Candella Software’s Cargasm. The game so creepily boasts that “players will be constantly exhorted to go faster by a bevy of Cargasm Girls,” and, “if they are fast enough, players can collect these ravishing maidens for their own personal Cargasm Harem.” Then it makes claims of “meticulously recreated photorealistic real-world locations”. But everything released so far shows neither. We’ve seen not a moving car, and perhaps thankfully, none of these collectable women. Today there’s a new trailer for the game, which is said to show off its real world locations. And you can see it below.

The Worst Ninja, Chapter 1: Hiding

This may be the first in a short series, or it may be a one-off post of disheartened misery. Either way, you’ll soon be able to make pretty exact estimates about how much willpower I have. As mentioned yesterday, I’ve had a strange, some might say futile and insane, desire to take a poke around the Ultima Online overhaul, Kingdom Reborn, for a while now. It’s the father of the modern MMO, and, not being seriously internetted in its heyday, I’d never played it previously. So, I was curious to see how it compares to its many colourful children. It was released this week, and so I did.
