Buy Dogfighter For £1.05, Uh, Next Week :(

By Jim Rossignol on October 22nd, 2010.

Bah, I thought this was now. This starts on Monday. I will bump this post then, and we shall play next week!

ORIGINAL OVERZEALOUS EXCITEMENT:
Blimey, awesome flight-fight aero-battle game Dogfighter is just slightly more than £1! (Soon, anyway.) So you and me, tomorrow afternoon, in this game. Right? It’s on! The game also has a big update on the 25th, which means you get even more for your quid.

Seriously for £1 we might as well all get stuck in. It’s a bi-planar riot of a game – check out the trailer below – I’ll see you on there tomorrow. (Or next week, when this actually starts.)

DogFighter Gets Dedicated Servers, Demo

By John Walker on August 17th, 2010.

EEEEEEENNNNEEEEEEEOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWW

Last night DogFighter fully relaunched itself, with some significant changes. In response to player feedback, the biggest difference is the addition of dedicated servers, along with proper joystick and gamepad support, a long list of bug fixes, and on top of all that, a demo. And to celebrate, the game’s 50% off all this week.

Dogfighter Takes Off. Beta Testers Fly Too.

By Kieron Gillen on June 15th, 2010.

If only you could talk to the Biplanes. Now that would be something.

The previously covered Dogfighter has launched on Steam for last night, at 25% off until June 21st. That means you can have it for nine – count ‘em! – pounds. I bring it to your attention mainly as everyone who got into the beta will be able to play the game until Wednesday, so you can see how the game ended up and see if you want to buy it. It’s like a very exclusive demo or something. Also, as a note to RPS subscribers – there’s still a few beta codes left in that Subscriber-codes site I mailed out prior to the main distribution, so if you fancy seeing the finished game, you can go there and grab one (if you haven’t already (Because if you try and grab another one it won’t work. And that’s very greedy anyway)). Er… that’s enough parenthesis. Here’s the trailer?

The Doghouse Opens: Dogfighter Steam Beta

By Kieron Gillen on May 27th, 2010.

I was never going to match the counter-terrierist pun from last time

Remember Dogfighter? Well, its Beta has just started, with a whole load of keys available for you to download. You just need to enter your e-mail here, and you can take to the sky with gun-biff. And as a note to subscribers, the link I sent out yesterday is different to this, with a completely different reservoir of keys. So if all the ones on the public one disappear, you should try the private link. Also, anyone who subbed between yesterday and today who hasn’t got the link should drop me a mail and I’ll get it at you. Anyway – enough house-keeping. Anyone played it yet? Thoughts?

EDIT: AND THEY’RE ALL GONE!

Counter-Terrierists: Dogfighter

By Kieron Gillen on May 17th, 2010.

The saddest thing in the world is the obsolescence of the tri-plane.

If I even said this game’s title to delightful girlfriend, she’d probably get a little tearful, because she hates to think of the hurting of hounds. But this forthcoming game isn’t about two hungry dogs dropped in the pit in the back of an essex pub. No – Dogfighter’s about plane-shootiness. It’ll be out on June 14th on Steam for twelve quid. Since it’s an unproved dev, I wouldn’t normally post about it pre-release… but its trailer is actually really quite nifty, showcasing its arena-set flight-lunacy. Not as mad as Illusion Softwork’s great-lost-game (NOT REALLY!) Flying Heroes because there’s no teapots of death, but it’s giving it a good shot in a Crimson-Skies-kinda-way.
