Wot I Think: Deadpool

By John Walker on July 9th, 2013.

I don’t know how far through Deadpool I got. I do know I don’t much care. And it seems fairly evident the game doesn’t care either. I’ve hit a bug, the thought of replaying the level through to see if it doesn’t happen again is too much, and so we’ll call it a day.

Deadpool Is A Videogame With All The Things In It

By Alec Meer on June 25th, 2013.

Something about the phrase 'giant Cable' is a little distressing

My Laugh-o-Tron 3000 calculates that this launch trailer for High Moon’s superhero manthumper Deadpool is 30% funny and 70% slightly annoying. I know, I know, the Laugh-o-Tron 4000 is supposed to be far more accurate, but I still stand by my old 3000 even though it once determined that Call of Duty: Black Ops was surely written by Gilbert & Sullivan.

Deadpool, which stars the titular fourth-wall-breaking, boundlessly trash-talking Marvel anti-hero, is out now in North America but is of course held hostage until Friday in the UK. Merc With A Release Date: Deadpool

By Adam Smith on April 29th, 2013.

The game is out on June 25th or 28th – the exact time you can play it is dependent on your geographic position. It’s a third-person action game and I’ve popped a couple of videos below, one of which is a ‘gameplay trailer’, except it isn’t, because haHAHAHAHHA.

Mouthing Off: Deadpool Game Announced

By Adam Smith on July 16th, 2012.

Deadpool, shatterer of skulls, gonads and fourth walls, will be the wisecracking star of a game from Transformers developer High Moon. The absurd violence and self-referential nature of Deadpool has made him a “fan favourite”, which often means “popular but not particularly commercially viable”. It’s pleasing to see him enjoying life beyond the page, although I reckon there’s a danger that the game, like the trailer, will be a series of murders, boobs and jokes about murders and boobs that uses irony as a flimsy veil. There’s also no guarantee that it’ll come to PC, with no platforms announced yet.
