Penny Arcade Teeny Trailer Bonanza
Written by John Walker on October 23, 2008.

A trio of trailers have appeared for the next instalment in the “Penny Arcade Adventures” as it’s so mercifully being abbreviated to in most circles. The first part of the episodic adventure-cum-RPG was really rather fun, so there’s good reason to have your looking aimed forward. All three videos below.
11Strong Bad STRONG!

Strong Bad’s Cool Game For Attractive People: Episode One - Homestar Ruiner is out, and blimey, it’s good. It’s not been much of a secret that I’ve not been a big fan of Telltale’s Sam & Max games. So I’m delighted to report that I enjoyed Strong Bad’s game. I’ll say no more, as reviews are due to appear in printed form. Meanwhile, there’s a demo, so you can see for yourself. I’d say a fondness for the Homestar Runner cartoons is a bit of a must - if you don’t like them, you’ll likely not get much from the game. But if you don’t like them, then you’re a dreadful sort and it serves you right.

The hero of a generation of gamers, Mr Ron “Monkey Island” Gilbert, has announced his new game, and the publisher who’ll be distributing it.

DeathSpank Episode 1: Orphans of Justice.

It’s an “RPG Adventure”, featuring a character from the short-lived Grumpy Gamer cartoons. Gilbert explains,
22“I called up Tim Schafer and said “Loan me a desk, I have a game to design!” and I proceeded to crank out what can only be called the perfect melding of a Monkey Island style adventure game with the wicked RPG game play of Diablo. Clayton [Kauzlaric] and I got together and banged the kicks out, slapped some meat on the characters and tightened up our story and world, and damn it, we had a design you could cook an egg on.”
