Wot I Think: Expeditions Conquistador

By Adam Smith on June 14th, 2013.

In 2013, the good ship Mancunia set sail for the New World. Upon arrival, my band of Conquistadors smoked a potato, ate some tobacco broth and became pals with the natives. I’m considering building a holiday resort on the coast of and below I’ll explain why you should pay us a visit, but when booking your stay, bear in mind that you might want to go home sooner rather than later.

Released: Yesterday: Expeditions: Conquistador

By Jim Rossignol on May 31st, 2013.

Like I headlined: Expeditions: Conquistador came out yesterday, colonising new continents of strategic building and management as it did so. Did it bring with it diseases we were not immune to? I am not sure that makes any sense, but nevertheless I will plunge onwards into the uncharted jungle of this paragraph. Where am I going? Can we truly be expected to conquer this bold new territory of exotic pre-amble? Will I be treated as a hero on my return to the old country? Or will I be strung up as a traitor for that thing I did with ships and the gold and the muskets and the analogies? Ah, history. Full of so much that is basically pretty awful. ConquistaDora: Expeditions – Conquistador Out This Month

By Adam Smith on February 11th, 2013.

Expeditions: Conquistador has a release date, which is notable because it’s a game that required a swift boot in the pantaloons from Kickstarter and yet has still managed to release on time. Well, almost on time. Logic Artists had originally planned to release in January so to launch on February 28th can only be considered a failure of gigantic proportions. I’m going to start one of these lists, collating everything that has happened between the original date and the revised date. I probably ate some horses, for one. Obviously, it’s a small slip and the early version impressed me. Preview trailer below.

Cortés Command: Expeditions – Conquistador

By Adam Smith on September 3rd, 2012.

Expeditions: Conquistador has an exemplary Kickstarter page: frequent updates, plenty of detail about the actual game as well as the people behind it and a decently explained pitch. Added to that, healthy development progress has already been made. The only thing that’s missing is a playable portion of the game to share with the community and, wouldn’t you know it, the fellows at Logic Artists sent me just such at thing. So, a little late with only nine days left to raise a further $15,000, I can comfortably say that Conquistador is an exciting project. It’d be easy to describe it as HOMM or King’s Bounty set during the conquest of The New World, but that sells the game a little short. I’ll try to explain why.
