A Quick Aside: Wreck-It Ralph Film Trailer

Who Framed Jazz Jackrabbit.

Do I care that most the characters you’ll spot in the lovely trailer for Wreck-It Ralph are from consoles and arcades? No I do not. Because I’m super-happy after watching a trailer for a movie not based on a game, but based on the concept of games. It looks, incredibly, like there might be a game-themed film that doesn’t make me want to pull out my own arms. And from Disney, no less. The game: try to see how many licensed game characters you can spot in each scene.

Portal At The Pictures: Lab Ratt

There's a great attention to detail here.

Portal has been a surprisingly prolific source of inspiration for many high quality products, so a short fifteen minute film based on its universe isn’t that big of a deal any more. However, what I love about Synthetic Pictures‘ Aperture: Lab Ratt (as spotted by The Sixth Axis) is how, in making a film based on Valve’s Lab Rat comic, how successfully they portray the evil of GLaDOS.

Attack Of The Games: Cloverbrawl

Happens to me every morning.

What if all videogame characters came to life? Awesomes, that’s what. Imagine having to dodge Combine on the way to work, or high-fiving Sonic while waiting for the bus? Life would be unquestionably better. This is the subject of a new 18 minute short film by The Seakitten Collective – a Belgian couple who create their own special effects – called Cloverbrawl.
