Bit.Trip Endless Runner Void Saga Core Fate Flux Saga XIII

By Alec Meer on July 5th, 2013.

With a mere 72 Bit.Trip games to choose from now, it’s a source of ongoing panic that I might not be able to lay hands on a fresh brightly coloured, pseudo-retro Gaijin Games title at any given time. Just as I was in the middle of terrified flailing and screeching following the realisation that it had been a full 19.7 hours since the release of the last Bit.Trip title, my frenzy was abated by news of a free, browser-based endless runner starring and named after the series’ monochrome hero, Commander Video.

Raging Rainbow: Bit.Trip Runner 2 Out Now

By Nathan Grayson on February 27th, 2013.

Man, people with rainbows continuously shooting out of their backs get to go to all the coolest places.

The original Bit.Trip Runner was a very mean game. In fact, it managed to be downright merciless in places, causing me to angrily fling clumpy tangles of hair at my monitor (aka, the wild Nathan’s natural defense/temper tantrum mechanism). But it sure sounded nice. Earning those chirpy grooves kept me plunging ever onward, until the inevitable end. Just kidding. It got too hard and I gave up. But in hindsight, I really wish I hadn’t. So I intend to rectify that mistake by testing the fleshliest parts of my skull against the inevitable brick wall that is Bit.Trip Presents… Runner2: Future Legend of Rhythm Alien. Based on appearances (and, er, that name), I’m expecting levels of whimsy that top even the original’s rainbow-emblazoned sprint. I should probably dye my rage hair in preparation.

Black Hole Fun: Bit.Trip Void

By Adam Smith on December 21st, 2012.

There probably aren’t enough capital letters in that headline. Gaijin Games’ rhythm action releases do insist on themselves. It’s all ‘BIT.TRIP this’ and ‘BIT.TRIP that’ in the titles, which is odd because the games themselves are much more careful about making a racket. Void was the third entry in the series over in Nintendo land and it’s the third released on PC as well, although the fourth was released as the second. Forget all that though because there’s sod all continuity between entries and little plot to speak of, as the video below demonstrates.

Beat Down: Bit.Trip Runner Out

By Quintin Smith on March 1st, 2011.

A second Bit Trip game has come locking and popping its way over to PC from its Wiiware beginnings! That said, Bit.Trip Runner is technically the fourth game in the rhythm action series, but I won’t care about that if you don’t. It’s currently enjoying a 10% off sale to celebrate being nominated as an IGF Finalist, and a list of new PC-exclusive features plus some footage awaits you after the jump.
