Wot I Think: Ghostbusters: Sanctum of Slime

By Alec Meer on March 24th, 2011.

It's your favourite Ghostbusters characters that you've never heard of!

This top-down arcade shooter came out earlier this week, and is available to buy for a relatively budget price on assorted download services now. Should you cross its stream, or aim for its flat-top? I don’t even know what that means, but look at me, I’m saying lines from a film you’ve seen! That means you will love me. Guh.

Here’s my verdict on Sanctum of Slime. I played it so you didn’t have to.

Ghostbusters: Sanctum Of Slime MP Trailer

By Quintin Smith on March 9th, 2011.

Are demons ghosts? I suppose you take the work you get in a recession.

Atari’s lightweight Ghostbusters game Sanctum of Slime arrives this month on March 23rd, which is eight days after Shogun 2, five days after both Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood and Homefront and two days before Crysis 2 and The Sims Medieval. So many games! So close together! And lest we forget, games, like breasts, are best when they are pressed close together. If you told me this time last year that I’d be enjoying this many games so close together, I don’t know what I would have done. I’d probably have hit you.

Anyway, perpetual news machine Blues News notes that Sanctum of Slime has a new multiplayer trailer out, and I’ve trapped it in the Ecto-Containment Unit after the jump.

Poo Ghosts? Sanctum Of Slime Footage

By John Walker on January 24th, 2011.

Busting makes them feel lovely.

Tell me, who is it that you are going to telephone? The ghost removers!

Just a small tip to the folks at Atari, for when they make their next trailer for the four-player top-down Ghostbusters co-op: Boasting that the game takes place, “Even in underground sewers!” is not exactly the basket into which you want to place all of your advert’s eggs. A game that takes place in dull grey sewers? Where can I join a days-long queue?! However, that aside, below is some new footage of the game that’s intended to show off the environments.

Ghostbusters Electronic Video Footage

By Jim Rossignol on December 7th, 2010.

Who you gonna call? Well the fire department, hopefully. Jesus.
The pictures that move have looked into the future and foreseen the workings of a new Ghostbusters game, known as Sanctum Of Slime. The glimpses we get of the 4-player co-op game make it look fairly colourful and entertaining, with a moderate chance of progressing into being mental. It’s got a chaotic Smash TV sort of thing going on, but with a whizzy 3D camera and crossing of the streams. Go take a look.

Atari Returns To Ghostbusters, Slime

By Jim Rossignol on December 2nd, 2010.

A new game based on the comedy wraith-wrangling movies has been revealed by Atari, via USAToday for some reason, and it’s going to be called Ghostbusters: Sanctum of Slime. Mmm, sanctum. Although it returns to the tale of the rookie ‘buster from the previous game, it looks like Atari (and developer Wanako) are going down a slightly different route, with this game being a top-down action game distributed via the magic of a series of tubes. There is online and offline 4-player co-op. You will be able to drive Ecto-3, too. So that’s a thing that will happen.

The original game apparently sold of a million copies, which seems like a lot. Release date: No.
