Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams Gets Competitive Mode

By Cassandra Khaw on December 9th, 2014.

WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams was a Kickstarter platform game that John liked but didn’t love: the former because of the satisfaction of learning each Sister’s special skills, the latter because of issues like repetitiveness. If you’re of the same mindset and was gunning for an opportunity to do more with the game, developers Black Forest has just the thing for you: a competitive multiplayer mode.

Giana Devs Return To Kickstarter With Ravensdale

By Nathan Grayson on July 18th, 2013.

Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams (which I keep wanting to read as Giana: Twisted Sister because my brain is a furnace fueled solely by old-school metal) was quite good – if not, er, quite great. John enjoyed it well enough, which seems to suggest that the folks at Black Forest Games are highly capable at making things scroll sideways. They also made some serious bank on Kickstarter, both from a monetary standpoint and in the form of a much more important currency: trust. BFG (I SEE WHAT THEY DID THERE) promised and delivered, and now they aim to do so a second time. Project Ravensdale, however, isn’t exactly Giana 2: Mötley Crüe Boogaloo.

This Way And That: Giana Sisters Demo

By Jim Rossignol on December 12th, 2012.

I know, I know, you keep saying you will make time for it, but you just end up running errands or doing overtime. Well that has to stop. It’s time for you and side-scrolling to remember why you love each other. Spend some time gazing into each other. Perhaps then you’ll either get married or finally realise that it’s time to move on. It’s for the best.

But look, I’m no counsellor. I’m just saying that there’s a one-level demo of Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams, which is just what you need to deal with your left-to-right issues. Or maybe you just need more space. I don’t know.

Wot I Think – Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams

By John Walker on October 23rd, 2012.

One of the first of the wave of Kickstarter-funded games has been released today. Crowd-funded as Project Giana, Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams is a 2D platformer inspired by 80s and 90s gaming, but certainly looking like something from this year. But how does it fare? I’ve been playing it for a couple of days, and am no longer in two minds about telling you wot I think:

Moody: Giana Sisters – Twisted Dreams Out October

By Adam Smith on September 28th, 2012.

Project Giana, the 25th anniversary homage to/evolution of The Great Giana Sisters, has a proper, actual name now. If I have a child, I’ll insist that the wailing bundle be referred to as Project Baby for the first six months of its life, and only then will I name it after a popular chart musician of the times. Project Giana has become Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams, the post-colon words referring to the platformer’s dual realities, which can be flipped at any time. From fluff and nonsense to tentacles and spikes. The video below shows it all in action and the game is actually out on October 23rd.
