I Am Space Agog At This X-Rebirth Gallery

The facile part of my brain that likes pretty things is currently whacking my internal dopamine button and I’m grinning like a quokka. That button is well worn after my last look at X Rebirth, where I watched X- Rebirth being unveiled through through tear-rimmed eyes. One eye was soaked in tears from the beauty and excitement from what I was seeing, and the other was full of sad tears because I have to wait until November 15th to play it. Those tears are welling up as I look at the new Gamescom screenshots. Oh god, it’s so so pretty.

Eyegasm! 5 Minutes Of Gorgeous X-Rebirth Footage

Given that we have no “next-gen” on the PC, we miss out on the huge leaps forward that consoles get to have. Admittedly, we trade that excitement in for all manner of upsides, but I do miss feeling overwhelmed by a game. The last time it happened was in Planetside 2, when I was hovering over a tank column that was moving along a road. They were in single-file, jokingly maneuvering towards a very small base. As they crawled, the sun went down and I watched as the headlights clicked on. It was quietly glorious. What does this have to do with this new X-Rebirth trailer? I think you can guess.

Goldminecraft: Lovely Notch Is Lovely & Rich

So sez the money-minded onlooker, anyway, though I imagine there’s some room for adjustment.

According to one-man Minecraft wonder-king Notch, he’s currently selling a Minecraft account every three seconds. Which in itself is about the greatest “that’ll show you, creators of identical, soulless brown-grey games about shooting soldiers” I can imagine, but on top of that it means he’s earning $13.30 a second. Or $15,000 an hour, Texyt calculate. Or, $300- 350,000 a day.
