Call Of Juarez: Gunslinger Trailer #23134

By Craig Pearson on May 22nd, 2013.

Hooray!
Time is a meaningless construct. A philosophically confusing frame that demeans our very existence when we acknowledge it. Destroy your clocks and watches, they are prisons, trapping you in a mental cells! Stop being tools of the elite chronologistia, and allow yourself to be free. Let’s not consider the seconds ticking off, falling like dandruff on the shoulder of life; the minutes that build up and up and up until the dam breaks and we all get covered in sticky time juice; the hours that segment our day but lazily repeat, not even having the common decency to go up to 24; the days that.. ooh, today’s Wednesday! That means Call Of Juarez: Gunslinger is out! Hooray for time and dates. And hooray for acknowledging Call Of Juarez: Juarez’s launch with a new trailer on that very day! There’s 4 minutes of footage, which covers everything that has been said about the game and finally demonstrates the unreliable narrator with guns schtick. It is below.

The World Of Love Report

By Jim Rossignol on June 28th, 2010.

Last Friday we attended World Of Love. It was the first of what will hopefully be many UK-based independent games development conferences organised by the folks at Pixel-Lab, and specifically Mr David Hayward, who pretty much did everything in terms of Making It Happen. What he didn’t do was host the event – that was handled by the indie-supporting media cabal at Channel 4, so that was nice of them. I took notes and stuff, and I’ve written it up below. My notes were very fast and rough, and my memory is essentially a mad pudding of sleepless derangement, so please forgive any mistakes or omissions to the full plot of the day.

Onward!

What Goes Around… The Indie Fund

By Alec Meer on March 2nd, 2010.

I adore this film, and I'm not afraid to say it

Some indie games make a lot of money. Most don’t. Worse, many never even get off the ground because they have no funding. The freshly-announced Indie Fund means to change that – it’s an angel investment group set up by some of independent gaming’s greatest current luminaries (the likes of 2D Boy, Jon Blow, Flashbang…) and intended to help the next generation of indie devs get started on making wonderful toys for us lot to play with. I.e. more Worlds of Goo, more Braids, more Audiosurfs, more Solium Infernums… This is a good day. A fantastically, wonderfully, bloody good day.

Rock, Paper, Birthday: We Are One

By RPS on August 20th, 2008.

We’re twelve months old. Of course you’ll find some “July 2007″ in the archives, but that was us just messing about. Our official, royal birthday is the 20th of August. That means the Rock, Paper, Shotgun project is a year old today.

The reason it has lived this long is because we have readers. We seem to have readers because we have words. We’ve compiled the exhaustive list of the best words from Year One beyond the jump. But before you go there, we want to ask for our birthday present. We want you to read that list and find a link that you can send to a gaming chum who does not read RPS. Share the links, spread the words of RPS, and all shall be merry. Thanks, you. Here’s to another year.
