Free Tomb Play: Guardian Of Light Goes F2P

By Nathan Grayson on November 15th, 2012.

Wait, it's not what it looks like! I also don't really know what it looks like.

Welcome, friends! Welcome. Come in. Take a seat. Here at Crazy Tom Braider’s Gently Used Car and Videogame Emporium, we have everything you could possibly want to suit your baddie-horde-bashing, 2000-year-old-Mayan-warrior-co-oping needs. We also have one car, but that’s not for sale because it’s mine. Then again, I suppose that Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light isn’t technically for sale either, given that it’s actually free-to-play by way of this crazy ad-powered Core Online gadgetmowhatsit. Yessir, our prices are craaaaaazy. And by that I mean kind of confusing.

Lara Gets Online Co-Op, At Flipping Last

By John Walker on November 23rd, 2010.

Hooray, we can all be friends now!

Coo, at last, the completely excellent Lara Croft & The Guardian Of Light has online co-op. Quite how it didn’t ship with this feature – something pretty essential to its core design – is a mystery. But it’s finally there now, and since you’ll have bought it via Steam it’ll automagically update the next time you load the grey gaming window. This’ll let you play the game with a chum, which I’d rather like to do now please. There’s also a few other tweaks, including graphical and audible improvements, refining of both mouse/keyboard and controller input, and general stability. So good!

Wot I Think:Lara Croft & the Guardian of Light

By John Walker on October 1st, 2010.

Oh look, a leather bound book intro! New ground for gaming.

Earlier this week Lara Croft’s latest adventure, an isometric action platformer The Guardian Of Light, was released. Unfortunately, despite being assured, we did not receive review code in time. So rather late, having completed it about twice over, I can tell you Wot I Think.

Outed: Lara Croft And The Guardian Of Light

By Quintin Smith on September 29th, 2010.

Lara Croft’s Top Down Co-Operative Adventures was released yesterday. Have you played it? It’s a bit stunning. I’ve only spent an hour with it, but for the entire duration of that hour I found myself repeating “Jesus, these developers ate their Weetabix” over and over again.

John’s Wot I Think is inbound for this Friday, but in the meantime you can enjoy the demo, and there’s a launch trailer hidden in the dusty crypts below.

Lara Croft And The Trailer Of Trailerier

By John Walker on July 19th, 2010.

Watermarking your screenshots Eidos! Makes them look shit when we crop them!

Despite reading about it, and indeed writing about it, it’s really only watching the video below that has finally had me click over what this new Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light trailer game is really all about. Which is really nothing like Tomb Raider at all. But it looks an awful lot of Diablo-esque fun. The new trailer shows off intense combat, with minimal athletics. (The previous trailer was the other way around.). It’s a peculiar direction to have swung in, but a bright and interesting one. It’s supposed to be out sometime this Summer, but there’s still no specific date.

Lara From Above: Guardian Of Light Trailer

By John Walker on May 18th, 2010.

Lara has a friend!

Only yesterday Jim and I were asking for more information about Lara Croft And The Guardian Of Light, and pa-dah! A new trailer has appeared. And crikey, it isn’t like the Tomb Raiders we’ve played before. Although we already knew it was an isometric action platformer, it’s hard to believe it until you see it running, which you can below.

L’il Lara: Tomb Raider Goes Retro

By Alec Meer on March 6th, 2010.

The next Tomb Raider game won’t be a Tomb Raider game. Rather, it’s called simply Lara Croft and The Guardian Of Light, it’s to be download only, and it looks to be an arcadesome, isometric action-platformer. Albeit one with lots of tomb-raiding. Wuh?
