Double Fine Helps Escape Goat 2 Escape Onto Steam

It’s official: goats are taking over gaming. Between Goat Simulator, Escape Goat 2, and not really anything else, there’s no escaping it. They’re everywhere, by which I mean in more than zero places. But in Escape Goat especially, the bearded beasts of burden appear to be far more than a conduit for cheap laughs. Magical Time Bean’s goatroidvania sequel looks downright lavish, with strong systems underpinning attractive visuals and, you know, goats. There’s a launch trailer in the trap (and goat) ridden labyrinths below.

The Bleat Goes On: Escape Goat 2

John was pleased by platform-puzzler Escape Goat when it trit-trotted across to PC last summer, so the news that a sequel is not only in development but will be released on PC before any other platform should make him very happy indeed. Indie Statik spoke to developer Ian Stocker, who stated that the second game will follow the single-screen puzzle format, but will have a completely new graphical style, created by Randy O’Connor of Tiger Style, they of Waking Mars. As for the release date, it’ll be this year but Ian doesn’t mention anything more specific.

Wot I Think: Escape Goat

Puzzle platformers are like buses. You have to figure out how to get on the right surfaces, then reach your destination without dying. On another matter, two have come along at once. After yesterday’s lovely Adventures Of Shuggy, today’s new Indie Royale Bundle includes the release of Magical Time Bean’s Escape Goat. Here’s Wot I Think.
