Hard Graphed: Fifa Manager 12 Demo

By John Walker on October 20th, 2011.

Oh God, oh God, make it stop.

Rock Paper Shotgun has recently received a number of complaints about our foot-to-ball coverage. Upset readers have claimed that we do not take Britain’s most popular sport at all seriously, instead reporting on any of the extremely popular games related to the pursuit with tired running gags, false ignorance and undeserved disdain. It has been pointed out to us that a great many of RPS’s readers are likely not only foot-to-ball fans, but fans of foot-to-ball gaming, and in our incessant use of stupid jokes and degrading remarks, we are alienating these readers from the site, and failing in our duty to provide accurate, engaging coverage of a large element of PC gaming.

But then they’re foot-to-ball fans, aren’t they? That’s just the sort of thing they would say. The idiots. Meanwhile, there’s a demo out for EA’s FIFA Manager 12.

FIFA Manager 11: Foot-To-Ball-To-Demo

By John Walker on October 28th, 2010.

This is both the scariest and the most confusing thing I've seen all day.

FIFA Manager 11 really should be a game about managing FIFA. [At this point please insert some jokes about how ineptly FIFA may well be run, and how one would manage it better, because I haven't the faintest clue. Maybe something about refusing cameras that can see if goals are scored? Is that FIFA? Or is that UEFA? Or is that a town in Mexico?] There’s a demo of this latest incarnation of the not-as-good-as-Football-Manager series, in which you can (not) find out. It gives you six months of play (game time, dummy) but allows you to carry over a save file into the full game should you be too bereft to start the whole insane process over again. In conclusion, baseball.

M.U.D. T.V. D.E.M.O.

By John Walker on February 26th, 2010.

All wacky video shows, all the time.

Jim made us aware of M.U.D. TV just a couple of weeks back, using his Make Awareness Laser. And already there’s a demo for you to find out more. It’s super-dense management stuff, asking you to operate a television station with the sole intent of taking over the world. Not with your advertising. To literally take over the world as an act of mad revenge. Any suggestions that this game is based on the life story of Rupert Murdoch would be libellous, and strictly untrue. The demo offers the first two missions, as well as the comprehensive tutorial. It’s a dauntingly detailed game, made slightly more complicated by the need to physically walk your character into locations to be able to access various options. A bit like real life then.
