Ask yourself: “Do I want buy an RPG where a boy runs around Tokyo’s otaku zone Akihabara killing vampires by beating them up until their clothes fall off and they evaporate?”

For me, the answer is “Nnno probably not? But… maybe I would like to at least see it.” Good news, Alice: Akiba’s Trip: Undead & Undressed [official site] now has a demo on PC.

Marvelous: Ys VI And Akiba’s Trip Coming To PC

Just another day in Akihabara.

Another two Japanese action-RPGs are coming our way from PlayStations via Xseed Games, the publisher announced last week, and they’re certainly a curious pairing.

Ys VI: The Ark of Napishtim [official site] is from the long-running, well-received series Xseed have been trickling onto PC for a while now. Akiba’s Trip: Undead & Undressed [official site], on the other hand, is about freeing Tokyo’s otaku district Akihabara from vampires by beating them up and whipping their clothes off to expose them to sunlight. Half Minute Hero 2 Counting Down To Launch

Flash! Flash, I love you, but we only have 30 seconds to kill a horse!

21 seconds may be sufficient time to flow, but to save the world you really should schedule in 30. And then another 30. And then oh! hurry! another 30, if you make it in time. That’s the big idea of Half Minute Hero: The Second Coming, which doles out bursts of action as your hero runs around whacking monsters and levelling up on a 30-second timer, hurrying to reach a shrine and top up time before it runs out.

The clock’s a-ticking, as the action-RPG sequel is now confirmed for a Steam release on Friday.

And Yes: Skullgirls Coming To PC, Finally, Eventually

It’s been a long, long time since we mentioned that handsome scrolling biff ‘em up Skullgirls was coming to PC. The reason seems to be trouble at the development studio, and indeed it won’t even be brought to us by Reverge Labs, by a new studio Lab Zero. Publishers Autumn and Marvelous AQL are backing the project, so it will now be down to the former Skullgirls team to bring the game to PC. They’ve recently updated to explain what they’re up to, explaining: “We presented Marvelous with two options: a relatively quick port that would mirror the feature set of the console releases, and a slower port with expanded multiplayer functionality such as lobbies. Marvelous AQL has graciously opted for the second option.”

Trailer below, of course. Why wouldn’t there be?
