Master of Orion: A Hands-Off Peek

Vroom vroom!

Remake or reboot? That’s the question I asked Jacob Beucler, director of global operations at Wargaming during an E3 demonstration of Master of Orion [official site].

“Definitely a reboot,” he says. “We’re taking things very seriously in terms of what made this franchise great.” By this he means Master of Orion and its first sequel, not the curious but problematic Master of Orion 3 (which our Adam likes to pretend never even happened).

World Of Tanks Publisher Working On Master Of Orion

I’d entirely forgotten that Wargming.net, publisher of the World of WarVehicles games, had acquired the rights to the Master of Orion and Total Annihilation licenses back in 2013, so when the news of a Master of Orion reboot arrived this morning I was taken aback.

“What?” I said. “Who?”

I didn’t ask why though because I can fully understand the desire to revisit one of the original and best 4X strategy series. Details and video below.

Bunch Of Heroes Out Next Week

At least this game's top down, eh Syndicate fans? Eh?

It’s been almost a year since we heard about Bunch Of Heroes. It’s a top-down cooperative zombie shooter, and it’s coming out on the 21st Sept via Steam and Gamers Gate. There’s also a new trailer to celebrate this, which you can see below.

Oh Man, More Zombies: Bunch Of Heroes

Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar. Not here, obviously.

You know Left 4 Dead? 4 player co-op zombieshoots? Imagine that from a top-down perspective, with over the top cartoon artwork and the zombies assault being masterminded by aliens, and I suppose you kinda have Bunch of Heroes.

The download-only title was announced this weekend, scheduled for summer 2011. Full press release and trailer after the jump. Maybe THIS game will have that feature I want, where a fifth player launches the enemy waves and tries to bring down the players with tactics and timing and… no? Probably not? Ah, well.
