It’s Blitzkrieg: Order of War: Challenge Demo

By Kieron Gillen on March 6th, 2010.

Hmm. RPS sort of forgot about Order of War after its demo was released. Men of War devoured our RTS playing time in 2009, basically. We don’t even know if it was any good. Metacritic says… no, not really. It must have done reasonably, however, as a demo of its expandalone follow-up has just been released. It’s taking a more multiplayer approach, it seems, with the demo allowing you to play the three sides in six of the game modes. Game modes involving tanks! Almost certainly the best of the game modes. The game is out at the end of next week, you can get the demo from here or watch the trailer below.

Order Of War Demo On Steam

By Jim Rossignol on August 4th, 2009.

Squeenix’s World War II RTS (you want to make a strategy game, set in World War II, are you sure?), Order Of War, has a demo up on Steam. Here it is. The 3D RTS boasts some bold scale, with “up 1000″ troops being under your command and on screen at any one time, and it’s being developed by the chaps at Wargaming.net, the same developer behind Galactic Assault and the Massive Assault games, and it looks a bit clever. Unconvinced? Check out the snazzy trailer below.

Frontline Report: Order of War Impressions

By Kieron Gillen on May 19th, 2009.

While I feel slightly nervous to dare add further comment after an RTS-expert like John Walker has had his say, I actually did cross London town to have a look at Wargaming.net developed and Squaresoft published Order of War and have a few shareable thoughts. Before seeing the game, the initial interest is in the industry machinations of it. It’s Squaresoft’s first PC-only Western-developed game. Wh… at? And after playing the Belarus-originated game, I’m smiling at a tiny observation. That no matter how much a PC-game this is, Squaresoft’s first RTS still manages to work out a way to make the whole thing into a cut-scene.

Order Of War, Coming Right Up

By John Walker on May 18th, 2009.

I order you to war, TO DEATH!

As Britain’s foremost expert on real-time strategies, it’s my pleasure to bring you these three videos of the forthcoming Order of War. I mean, what can I say about the RTS, and the role this game plays in it? Well, “War”, that sure implies there will be battles, and they certainly do require strategy. And you can’t be strategic without some manner of order, I’d imagine. So I think we can all agree, it definitely is an RTS, and they are games that people like. And they have tanks in them. And something about resources. Look, everyone else is out, okay. More helpful information below.
