On The Ledge: Penny Arcade Ep 3 DLC & 4 Inbound

By Alec Meer on July 24th, 2012.

yeah yeah piracy gag

The increasingly incongrously-named Penny Arcade are to continue their Zeboyd-developed series of roleplaying adventures, both with a fourth game and a pair of free expansions for the well-received third. The second DLC for On The Rain-Slick Precipice Of Darkness Episode 3 will apparently detail the fate of the character you/we/I/he/she/they/it/your mum played as in the first two episodes of the abandoned Hothouse-developed trilogy. Closure of a sort, then.

Penny Arcade: Prohibitively Long Title 3 Trail Is Very Silly

By Nathan Grayson on June 20th, 2012.

Oh sna-- aw, they beat me to it.
That thing right there? I do believe it’s some form of Moroccan crab man, and its virtual existence forces me to face a very profound dilemma. See, I am immediately curious about every facet of its existence – context within the story, capabilities, linguistic background, favorite food, blood type, opinion on jazz music’s current place in society, what crabomancy actually entails, etc – but, on second thought, maybe I don’t want answers to any of those things. Maybe the truth can’t live up to the lofty legend I’ve already fished out of my imagination’s briniest depths. I must ponder. While I do that, why don’t you watch the entire Penny Arcade’s On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness 3 trailer that produced this delightful specimen of meaty clawed magic?

Zeboyd’s Penny Arcade Episode 3 Out June 25

By Adam Smith on June 14th, 2012.

The temptation to write ‘Episode 3 Unexpectedly Launches on June 25′ was strong, particularly after that potato sack business started to chip away at the collective consciousness of the internet. I’m not cruel though. Not that cruel.

Zeboyd, of Cthulhu Saves the World and Breath of Death VII, have brought forward the release of their continuation of Penny Arcade’s On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness 3, a retro-style RPG take on the webcomic’s comedy monsterbash. Expect references aplenty, like that Deeper Crow pictured above, and hopefully a much more satisfying experience than in Hothead’s previous episodes. I’ve had a grand old time with Zeboyd’s work in the past and I already prefer the visuals to the 3D bobbleheads of yesteryear’s installments. Buy on Steam in the first week and get free Cthulhu.

Penny Arcade Adventures Returns In Hands Of Zeboyd

By John Walker on April 4th, 2012.

Not shown: someone saying a swear.

The Penny Arcade games were, perhaps, not all of the good in the world in one place. But there’s some rather splendid news afoot. What had clearly been abandoned is to return, but now in the hands of the rather brilliant Zeboyd Games. They who made the utterly fab Cthulhu Saves The World. They’ve been put in charge of the ever-hideously named Penny Arcade Adventures: On The Rain-Slick Precipice Of Darkness, episodes 3 and 4.

Zeboyd Are On the Rain-Slick Precipice

By Jim Rossignol on August 31st, 2011.

Nothing compared to SPONG IN A POSTY
So here’s a bit of unexpected news. It comes out of leftfield for us to learn that Penny Arcade’s Penny Arcade Adventures episodes are to get a third and final episode – since it was abandoned by Hothead to work on Deathspank – but it’s even more surprising to learn that Zeboyd (they of lo-fi RPG treat Cthulhu Saves the World) are making it. Really? Apparently so. Zeboyd say: “Zeboyd Games is pleased to announce that we are currently working on Penny Arcade Adventures: On the Rainslick Precipice of Darkness Episode 3. Yes, we’re serious.”

Expect something 16-bitlike, by the looks of it.
