Ryzom Not Dead, Again

Weird-lookin’ French sci-fi MMO Ryzom is back, Back, BACK! Again. Having been heading for death, for the second time, the game was saved a few months back and is now being relaunched as a commercial project. The subs are going to cost $10.95 for a month, with a discount for multiple-months. There’s also a three-week trial. I’ve never tried it, even when it was entirely free, but I figure I’ll give it a go now that it has apparently risen from the dead twice. I mean it’d be rude to ignore something so persistent. (It’s a persistent world game. DO YOU SEE.)

Ryzom Rises Again

Nevrax send word that their free-to-play MMO, Ryzom, which had previously been closed down, is now back online. I’m not quite sure how they’re paying for it to be online and free, as there doesn’t seem to be advertising or anything, nor am I sure how much the game has changed since it launched (when it was intriguing with its science-fantasy take, and yet broken) but it does have an editor that allows you to create your own instanced scenarios, which is an idea that I like very much.

Hell, it’s free. Someone with a few hours spare download it and report back.
