Death Sentence: The Dead Linger’s Prison Update

It’s been a long time since we checked on the enormous procedurally generated zombie survival antics of The Dead Linger and the alpha, which is currently available for purchase, has changed considerably in the interim. The next update, which should be live tomorrow, adds more variety to suburban settings and a new prison environment will now appear in the world. It’s a grim, dark place but also the sort of building that a brave survivor might well be tempted to explore in hope of finding weaponry. The previous update completely overhauled world generation, aiming to create more believable landscapes and locations. Both update videos are below.

Dead Linger Has A Playable Alpha

Anyone who has pre-ordered zombie sandbox mulitplayer (if you want) survival sim The Dead Linger will now be able to get playing with the alpha. The game, a hugely ambitious project that intends to give you an entire world to survive in, and no artificial walls to restrict you, casts you as a regular human with limited capacity to stay alive.

Detour Is Competitive Road Building, Odd

Bomb that bypass!
Sandswept have finally revealed some of their long-in-development competitive roadbuilding game, Detour. Yep, it’s a bit of an odd one. It’s basically sat in the SimCity realm of laying down infrastructure, while at the same time being multiplayer and competitive. Using bombs to blow up enemy roads is as much an option as normal building business. It’s a little weird, as you can see from the video walkthrough I’ve posted below.

The game is out later this year, in “Q2″. So that’s Detour.
